Upon further reflection, though, it was probably a good idea the stand was shut down. Otherwise, on down the road the little girl might have been forced to start offering her “employees” (her mother) health care coverage …

Well, Oregon IS on the left coast, they DO run the state by proxy because of their size, and they HAVE reduced the ability of Oregon to run economically in the black.

But other than that, they’re generally just jerks in the city bureaucracy that couldn’t care less if their regulations make sense or not. Ask nearly any builder about that.

I heard about this. Apparently there is no shortage of stupid people.

Whenever I pass a koolaid stand, I make my donation (never take the drink), just like those passersby who supported my children when they were younger.

I think Allahpundit had a great idea: the RNC should buy the photo that accompanied the original Portland article of the little girl and slap it on every flier they send out. She’d be the poster-child for the small-government movement inside of a week.

Seems to me those health inspectors have a lot of extra time on their hands…why not do some real work??? Like check out the Taco stand that is using three day old re-fried beans???

This is runaway government at it’s best(worst)…..trying to keep competition limited and manipulate the economic process of others. Talk about in your face government….too bad Oregon!

Dang it, Bill! Now you’ve gone and done it. You’ve given our moonbat legislators and SS troopers a new idea about what else they can punish the little girl for.

But it won’t end there. They’ll have the poor little child parentless by charging her mother with a capitol crime on that one.
