It’s been a depressing season so far for the Carolina Panthers (0-3), and today they’ll have an uphill battle in trying to get that first win as they battle the New Orleans Saints (2-1) at the Superdome. The Saints will be without running back Reggie Bush as he recovers from a broken leg suffered in the Sept. 20th game against my co-blogger Irish Spy’s 49ers. Here are today’s Panthers inactives. Clausen will once again get the start at QB, and it will be interesting to see how he does on his first road trip as a starter.
For what it’s worth, here are my NFL pool picks for this week: SF, BILLS, BAL, NO, TEN, CIN, GB, STL, IND, HOU, SD, PHI, NYG, MIA.
Game time is 1 ET and it will be broadcast on Fox.
Update – 5:53 PM: The Panthers put on a decent effort today but in the end the Saints were the winners 16-14. Steve Smith left the game with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the 49ers face Atlanta, hoping to get off their own pathetic 0-3 start.
Let’s hope the new offensive coordinator can actually do something with the talent we’ve got.
Oh, and ST, you’re welcome for Reggie Bush.
UPDATE: While I’m thrilled to see we’re actually leading, we’re letting the Falcons get awfully close.
UPDATE 2: And that’s all she wrote. At this rate, we’ll be lucky to win one game this season.
Happily Carolina is presently ahead, but I feel bad that the Saints are losing. :) :( lol I can’t figure it out. – Lorica
All I’ve got to say about it is that it’s a good thing the game is played on the field and not in the jackass backrooms where everything else in N.O. seems to be decided, with money changing hands suspiciously.
And, sorry about your NC State team, too, ST. I really was hoping someone besides Spurrier had a decent team there.
