Audio: Hugh Hewitt takes on Politico editor over biased leftward lurch

It’s about time somebody with some influence nationally did it. Glad it was Hugh. He doesn’t just tackle the leftward lurch of Politico but also their biased coverage of the Tucson tragedy, with an emphasis on a piece token “conservative” Joe Scarborough wrote for them just a few days after what happened in Tucson. The interview, with Politico website editor John Harris , is a little over 14 minutes long but well-worth listening to.

There were many more examples Hewitt could have given Harris of Politico’s blatant left wing bias as it related to their blame game Tucson reporting. Editors must take the flak of their publications. It sounds like Politico is caught riding a sharp fence…one which the editor must decide at some point which side he will fall on. From the sound of the articles and the allowance of “suspect” conservative Scarborough, he has been leaning left and determining that the conservative side should take the brunt of criticism in the issues raised by Hewitt.

From the “make nice” tone of the conversaion I find the Politico’s editor to be very condescending and dismissive of Hewitt’s assertations. So has Politico decided to take the left sided plunge? We will see with future editorials/articles on the site.

As it is said, at some point we have to separate the goats from the sheep. This is actually the readers choice in this regard. I prefer to read and draw my own conclusions, not based on a radio personalities opinion. But, indeed, I did find these same articles to be a bit unnerving and felt that perhaps Politico was not supplying rebuttal arguements that truly addressed the specific issues that Hewit has raised. Good interview, though!
