Thank God for small favors: Trump decides he won’t run for prez

He made the big announcement earlier today. Even with that, being The Donald™ and all, he could still change his mind – but something tells me he won’t because he enjoys capitalism way too much to be distracted by a little thing like “public service”:

(CNN) – Real estate mogul and television celebrity Donald Trump, who generated a media publicity blitz by saying he might run for president in 2012, announced Monday that he will instead remain a businessman.

“After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the presidency,” Trump said in a statement.

With his typical bravado, Trump maintained that he would have won the Republican primary and the general election, but recognized that “running for public office cannot be done half-heartedly.”

“Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector,” Trump said in the statement.

Now, can we get back to the serious contenders for the GOP nomination, please? Well, once we get beyond Newt Gingrich’s grandstanding, of course. 8-|

  1. Trump was the only potential candidate capable of soundly beating Obama. We may as well start getting used to the idea of BHO winning 2012 especially if RINO Romney is the Republican nominee. A close contest will be stolen by the Dems.

Trump would have been a great contender for the next election as a Democrat. He has no agreement with the Republicans and has only supported RINO’s as far as I could determine. It was never serious. Probably just a good attention getter. Now we can get to the truly Republican runners, and begin to look at them closely.

Mark Twain said it best: “There is only one way to look at a politician and that is down.”

Could be he didn’t want to risk tarnishing his self image with an election loss. Or, maybe he is an altruist, worried about the public’s self image being tarnished by failing to elect him.

I think this is brilliant…he can now openly question the background of Obama without harming the Republican Party. He can call the media an ASS for not doing their homework the first time around. I hope that’s what he is going to do. Speak up for the capitalism that made this country great and point out the Marxism that is embedded in Obama’s life philosphy.

Today on Fox News some dimwitted democratic spokesperson equated asking about his educational background to racism!

The complicit press’ groupthink on Trump has been impressive. Once OBL was swiss cheesed and the new ” birth cert. ” was released, the script was closely followed. Obama’s conducting the accomplice media like an orchestra. Too bad the new document looks like a bad fake. Trump, no doubt, liked the attention, and may find a way to speak out again soon.
