Intelligence source: There was no anti-film demonstration before Libya Consulate attack

Via Fox News:

An intelligence source on the ground in Libya told Fox News that there was no demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi prior to last week’s attack — challenging the Obama administration’s claims that the assault grew out of a “spontaneous” protest against an anti-Islam film.

“There was no protest and the attacks were not spontaneous,” the source said, adding the attack “was planned and had nothing to do with the movie.”

The source said the assault came with no warning at about 9:35 p.m. local time, and included fire from more than two locations. The assault included RPG’s and mortar fire, the source said, and consisted of two waves.

The account that the attack started suddenly backs up claims by a purported Libyan security guard who told McClatchy Newspapers late last week that the area was quiet before the attack.

“There wasn’t a single ant outside,” the unnamed guard, who was being treated in a hospital, said in the interview.

These details appear to conflict with accounts from the Obama administration that the attack spawned from an out-of-control protest. The Libyan president also said Sunday that the strike was planned in advance.
U.S. officials, in response to the claim that there was no demonstration at the time of the attack, told Fox News there was a small protest earlier in the day — but they did not dispute that there was no significant or sizeable demonstration at the time.

Is the “anti-Islam filmmaker” being turned into a scapegoat over what looks to be attacks coordinated to happen on the anniversary of 9-11? Will we ever know the truth?

If the administration’s official line is that the attack grew out of a “spontaneous” protest, you can bet your neighbor’s farm that it’s not only a lie, but that it’s a damned lie.

The administration is counting on the LSM to carry their water bucket on this one (just like they’re counting on them to carry it for the general election), and they’ll lie through their teeth at every chance to get the LSM to carry that bucket.

  2. If you believe anything at all the Obhammud administration says I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.

There is a sure-fire way to find out the depth of someone’s relevant knowledge about major terrorist events and their aspects; ask a simple question. On 9/11 ask if they have read the 9/11 Commission report. I have, cover to cover. In the Embassy attacks, have they seen the video? I have and my reaction was WTF as in, what’s the fuss? The video of Rhianna getting her “gazongas” tattooed was better.

  3. Good catch, Sister. The Administration is in full spin mode because what has happened is so at odds with their world ideology their circuits have overloaded.

But as you know, in another sense it doesn’t really matter if the film/video was the cause of the riots and murder of our ambassador or not. Your ticket to acceptance in the modern world is that you tolerate insults without resort to violence and threats. If you can’t handle that, then you don’t get to be part of our world. That means no visas, no diplomatic this or that, and only what trade that we absolutely need to do (this if you happen to have some vital natural resource in our country).

B-b-but this wasn’t supposed to happen!! Obama told us we would be safer if he were elected!

Flashback: from an interview with New Hampshire Public Radio, November 21, 2007:

NPR: Tell us more about your background and your experience and how it will help to repair our negative image in the world.

Obama: I truly believe that the day I’m inaugurated, not only will the country look at itself differently but the world looks at America differently (True. They now see us as spineless and untrustworthy. – GWR). If I’m reaching out to the Muslim world, they understand that I’ve lived in a Muslim country, and I may be a Christian (as defined by Jeremiah Wright, maybe. – GWR), but I also understand their point of view.(In that case, you should have known that non-stop bragging about getting bin Laden would motivate the jihadists to step up the violence, no? – GWR).

NPR: Although you were a little kid when you lived in Indonesia.

Obama: No, no, no…well, it’s not just that, my sister is half Indonesian. I traveled there all the way through my college years, and so I’m intimately concerned with what happens in these countries and the cultures and perspectives these folks have (Apparently much more concerned than with what happens here, given how you’ve spent four years screwing up the economy. – GWR). And those are powerful tools for us to be able to reach out to the world. And when you combine that with my work on the Senate Foreign Relations committee on everything from nuclear proliferation to issues of genocide (all of which you voted ‘present’ on. And I’m sure Iran’s mullahs are laughing their collective butts off about your ‘nonproliferation’ expertise. – GWR), then I think that the world will have confidence that I am listening to them, and that our future and our security is tied up with our ability to work with other countries in the world. That will ultimately make us safer. (So how’s that working out for you now? – GWR).

Certainly it takes weeks to prepare for that kind of spontaneity. It also appears that the appearance of a lack of planning on the part of our State Department was also spontaneous. Clearly, all of this spontaniety can be now be deliberately discounted.

  6. OldFert says:

The Benghazi riots were as spontaneous as the riots at the ’68 Democratic convention in Chicago.
