Fox News sports commentator Erin Andrews tweeted out this photo yesterday of conditions on the ground at Lambeau Field:

Here’s the gameday forecast. One word: BRUTAL.

49ers vs. Packers – Sunday, 4:40 P.M., FOX
FORECAST: Brutally cold temperatures, partly cloudy to mostly clear. Blustery and breezy.
Winds: Northwest 10-20 mph possible gust of 25 to 30 mph
Kickoff: -4 wind chill: -23
Half Time: -6 wind chill: -28
Second Half: -10 wind chill: -35

Conditions are so bad that it’s causing some to suggest that the game should be postponed. Thoughts?

BTW, here’s the playoff schedule. 2 games today, and 2 tomorrow. The Panthers will play the highest remaining seed from this weekend’s games. Read more about their various playoff scenarios here.

Postpone? Grow a set! I still remember the ’67 Ice Bowl, the NFC championship game between Lombardi’s Packers and Landry’s Cowboys. The game time temperature was -13.

However, for a number of years after that game several of the players were still receiving treatment for frostbite complications.

The Packers won that game on Bart Starr’s QB sneak.

Real men play football in the snow. Go Niners!

Yep, go Niners! I hope our California guys (I live in the SF Bay Area) are getting acclimated as I type this. The coldest I have ever been outdoors is -18 and that was cold enough for this gal. Can’t wait for the game. Little concerned about the health of the fans. The players will be moving but the fans are sitting. Lots of bundling up, I hope!
