DeMint, NYT: Daschle’s nomination should be withdrawn (MORE: DASCHLE WITHDRAWS)

In light of reports of Tom Daschle’s numerous tax issues (the failure to pay them, to be exact, not to mention the lobbyist angle), the heat is intensifying on President Obama to withdraw the former Senate leader’s nomination for HHS. The good news and the bad news

Obviously, the good news about the unanimous House Republican opposition to President Obama’s stimulus bill means that the Republicans in the House (all of them) seem to have found their way again. Not only that, but it means that Obama’s claims that this will be a “bipartisan bill” are bogus, at least as far as the House is concerned. The Senate, of course is a different matter. Bloated stimulus bill passes in the House, “opportunity” awaits

With news of the House’s passage of the earmark-filled “stimulus bill,” it’s made a lot of people, mainly Democrats, happy.
