Innocence lost: Police confirm they’ve found the remains of Zahra Baker
Note: In my original post, I had written that Zahra was 12-years-old. She was actually 10.

The 1-6 Panthers continued to demonstrate last week why they are one of the worst teams in the NFL by losing to the St. Louis Rams 20-10. They’ll try to rebound here at home today against the Saints, while the Saints (5-3) will look to keep the race for NFC South leader tight (Atlanta and Tampa Bay are at 5-2). The Panthers uphill battle will be made all the tougher by the fact that running back DeAngelo Williams is still out with a sprained left foot.
Sorry I’m so late with this, y’all. Just been a crazy last few days. Tomorrow I should be back to a normal blogging schedule (whatever “normal” is!). In fact, I’ll probably be blogging more than normal tomorrow, since I’m off this week. 🙂
The 0-5 Panthers look to score their first victory of the season against the league’s other “worst team” – my co-blogger’s SF 49ers. The 9ers are coming off their first win of the season last week (17-9 over Oakland) and will look to capitalize on that with another win this week.
A young Hickory, NC girl is dead, quite possibly at the hand of her stepmother. Read this story, and your heart will go out to Zahra Baker, and the abuse it sounds like she had to endure. May she RIP, and her killer(s) be punished to the absolute fullest extent of the law.
