The Panthers are 1-7. The Bucs are 5-3. But they’re 2-2 at home, which gives the Cats something to be hopeful about as they try to claw their way up from the cellar with a road win against their NFC South division rival. It’ll be a tall order, considering not only our quarterback issues but also our injury woes. I’m not optimistic in the least.
The 1-6 Panthers continued to demonstrate last week why they are one of the worst teams in the NFL by losing to the St. Louis Rams 20-10. They’ll try to rebound here at home today against the Saints, while the Saints (5-3) will look to keep the race for NFC South leader tight (Atlanta and Tampa Bay are at 5-2). The Panthers uphill battle will be made all the tougher by the fact that running back DeAngelo Williams is still out with a sprained left foot.
The Yahoo Big League Stew blog has an awesome recap of the appearance on the field of both former Bush presidents prior to the start of last night’s Giants/Rangers game. The game stank if you were a Rangers fan, but the pre-game was pretty darn cool:
Sorry I’m so late with this, y’all. Just been a crazy last few days. Tomorrow I should be back to a normal blogging schedule (whatever “normal” is!). In fact, I’ll probably be blogging more than normal tomorrow, since I’m off this week. 🙂
The 0-5 Panthers look to score their first victory of the season against the league’s other “worst team” – my co-blogger’s SF 49ers. The 9ers are coming off their first win of the season last week (17-9 over Oakland) and will look to capitalize on that with another win this week.
It’ll be a great day for Panthers fans as they don’t have to worry about whether or not their 0-5 team will lose (this is the Panthers’ bye week). Their opponents next week will be my co-blogger’s favorite team (my 2nd favorite team) San Francisco, the league’s only other winless team. The game will be played here in Charlotte.
