The final Barrett report

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on January 20, 2006 at 1:15 am

Check it out here (minus the redacted pages, of course). Even though there are many missing pages, it’s pretty clear what happened and that is that the Clinton administration abused its power by doing whatever they wanted to in order to help former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros coverup his, ahem, tax problems.

Think we’ll finally see an after-the-fact editorial piece from the NYT on the rampant abuses of power from the Clinton admin once they read this?

Of course not.

  1. I will be keenly watching the Old Media coverage of this report. It would appear to confirm the worst of the allegations made against the Clinton White House, which the Old Media were determined to protect right to the end. None of Clinton’s misdeeds ever struck the Old Media Commentariat as worthy of a close look, much less criticism or condemnation.

The Bush Administration doesn’t have a single ethical or moral black mark against it. Its personnel, from the top down, have exhibited gentlemanly behavior even in the face of the most scurrilous unfounded attacks. Yet the Old Media lambaste it relentlessly. What’s wrong with this picture?

Clinton and Cisneros were a pair, alright.

I heard someone on the radio talking about the redacted pages. They said that Grassley or some other senator that has access to the pages should “leak” them out to the public. What would that judge do??? He cannot hold a senator of the United States in contempt while he is the process of doing his job. =)) Should be fun to see how fast these are leaked to us. – Lorica

How would it hurt national security?

  5. Lorica says:

It wouldn’t hurt national security Bak. It would hurt only the previous administration. This judge not wanting to see his buddy Billy Bob get lambasted by truth redacted those pages. Since the IRS or HUD don’t deal in national secrets, I don’t see how it is possible that national security is going to be bothered. We shall see what happens, but I am believing that some aide to some Senator is going to release these pages. – Lorica

  6. PCD says:

Grassley won’t leak or disclose the redacted pages. Chuck has too much integrity and class to do that.

If the roles and this was a Republican Administration, Tom Harkin would be delivering copies of the redacted pages door to door.

  7. Lorica says:

LOL That is true of Harkin PCD, No Doubt!!
I will disagree with you about Grassley. Grassley released the BRAC list before it was made public, so it is not like he has not don’t this before. We shall see. It could be a pipe dream, but I do expect someone to release those pages to the public. – Lorica
