Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez issued a warning of sorts this weekend for Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice:
Feb 19, 2006 — CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday warned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice not to “mess with” him days after Rice described Venezuela as a menace to regional democracy in the midst of tense diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“Don’t mess with me Condoleezza. Don’t mess with me, girl,” Chavez said during his weekly Sunday broadcast, sarcastically offering her a kiss and jokingly referring to her as “Condolence.”
The warning comes days after Rice described Venezuela as one of the “biggest problems” for the Western Hemisphere and promised to develop regional alliances as part of an “inoculation” strategy to expose what the State Department calls anti-democratic behavior in Venezuela.
Tough words from a sexist tin-pot socialist, eh? Just what do you plan on saying or doing in response if Sec. of State Rice continues condeming your leadership, Mr. Chavez?
Harry Belafonte and the recent delegation of Hollyweirdos who travelled to Caracas recently to show support for Chavez have, so far, been unavailable for comment. Considering what Belafonte thinks of Secretary of State Rice, I think it’s safe to assume that he’ll be cheering Chavez’s implied threats.
Oh – and no comment yet from Chavez’s new pal and fair weather friend of the anti-war left Cindy Sheehan, either.

I know. Everyone wonders what I think.
I just wonder why he wanted to personalize his message to Condi. Why do leftists attack people so personally in general?
I’d like to see who continues to support Hugo Chavez. Anyone?
Uh huh. I see. You don’t say. Do tell. BOOOM! Game over and another dictator done. His posturing is no different than the freaks visited upon him in the form of people. The Anti-Sheehan thing pretty much sums up his desperation. The dogs that do most of the barking are typically not to be worried about. True Americans views are obviously not shared by the twilight zone contestants imparting their wisdom to this dictator. You got another think coming, Hugo and my money’s on his real understanding of where he’s not . It’s laughable that there are still in this day and age, some who believe threats as an option, let alone a strategy. Woof.
Baklava says “I’d like to see who continues to support Hugo Chavez. Anyone?”
Lets see, we have:
He is Thumbs up in my book!
Allies of Chavez and only place to see Saddam Chauffering Chavez around in the goold ol’ Days.
Ah, we can’t forget headphone wearing Harry!
C’mon Jesse, give us a smile!
He’s my BUDDY! C’mon give me a kiss!
Sometimes you just have to give yourself a hug!
Want me to build you a house Hugo?
The Excutive bathroom is this way…
My brother it is good to see you again. Who are you going to kill tonight?
Really! Keep looking, freedom is over there. I promise you it is there!
I hate when they give us homework!
You like this stuff eh?
Iran…me and you Hugo, c’mon, I know you want to….
I got your nose!
Oh boy! Shouldn’t have had those burritos…
I would be hypocritical if I failed to include this one:
Who has the stronger grip?
Thought about this as I read what you said Baklava, thought it would be funny to look through.
In any case, hope it brought a smile.
Sighs

No comment yet from Chavez’s new pal and fair weather friend of the anti-war left Cindy Sheehan.
I think Mother Sheehan is still smarting about her stillborn Senate campaign and book flop. Although I forsee a Nobel Peace Prize in her future.
BTW: How on earth did Sheehan and Chavez ever share the same platform withour causing it to collapse from the sheer weight of their combined egos? Talk about an engineering marvel!
- Chevez is on minute 14 of his brief moment of “Look I have a loaded pistol, and its aimed right at my…..” fame. I give him 1 to 3 years tops before he’s “demoted”, which for despots usually is somewhat more traumatic than simply striking the Klegg lights and shuting off the camera’s.
- Poor Cindy. ever since she unloaded on Hillery shes been personna non-grata with her commy pals.
- Bang
Maybe Pat Robertson was right?
I gotta admit this story caught me flatfooted. My first reaction was “Victor Hugo died before Condi Rice was born, so how could he have smartmouthed her like that?”
Imagine my astonishment to discover that this is actually some other guy named Hugo, and he’s… president? whatever, of some country south of Mexico somewhere. How about that?
Well, this calls for a stern response. Death to those who insult our Secretary of State! Let’s riot and burn, uh… burn… er, Taco Bells! Yeah, Taco Bell has basically the same relationship to Hugo Chavez as McDonalds does to Danish cartoonists, so they’d be a fit outlet for our rage. If this Hugo guys thinks he can disregard the American Street, he’s got another think coming!
If this guy wasn’t sitting on one the largest supplies of oil in the world the White House would care less.
He was not a problem until we started going to war for oil.
Now he spews anti-Bush rhetoric. But at the same time is pro-American. He thinks the CIA is spying on him and has palns to kill him. He propbably right.
He a threat to our oil supply but not a threat to the American people. Unless you believe we have a right and a duty to go to other countries and kill other human beings for oil.
Chevez is another creation of bush & Cheney, as was Morales and Hamas and Islamists in charge of Iraq. The foreign policy of bush and his crony’s have made America less safe. Peace
Seditionists continue to bask in a mindset of denial and spread their lies which emboldens our enemies, endangers our troops, and makes America less safe. Liberty
- Bang
bang,
Is it still sedition if the federal authority is corrupt?
I thought it was patriotic to rebel angainst tyranny and corruption.
Are these Republicans, Hollyweirdos also?
Ronald Regan, AAArnold, Bruce Willis, Dennis Miller, Ron Silver, Patricia Heaton, Fred Thompson, Bo Derek, Fred Gandy, Sonny Bono, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Ben Stein, Shirley Temple, Tom Selleck, Ricky Schroeder, Janine Turner, Mel Gibson, Charlton Heston, Kelsey Grammer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Shannon Doherty.
Or does one have to be against Bush policies, to be “Hollyweirdos”?
Um, do any of those Hollywood Republicans support Hugo Chavez and think of our President as worse than Hitler?
Take your time.
GBA, I constantly rebel aganst the tryanny of the left and of the Democrat party.
“Um, do any of those Hollywood Republicans support Hugo Chavez and think of our President as worse than Hitler?”
I don’t know all their views, but I do know that Reagan supported Saddam, and actually sent Rumsfield to meet and shake hands.
Which is worse?
PCD,
Answer me this.
How can a group that is not in power be tyranical?
That like saying somebody who works under you is sexually harrassing you. Tyranny requires power. The leftys and crats have little or no power these days.
“I don’t know all their views, but I do know that Reagan supported Saddam, and actually sent Rumsfield to meet and shake hands.
Which is worse? ”
One of the most deliberately obtuse comments I’ve ever read on this blog and that’s saying a lot. It was a strategic alliance, not a friendly one, that we had with Iraq. Of course you, and liberals like you, continue to lie about the nature of the relationship but that’s ok. Conservatives like me will be around to correct you on the lie. Funny how when this topic comes up liberals tend to forget the relationship that that FDR had with “Uncle Joe” Stalin. (photos here and here)
Nice attempt at sidetracking the argument though, “AkaDad” (aka “Pokerdad”)- now why don’t you try commenting on the issue at hand, and that’s Belafonte (and Glover, etc) TRUE support of Hugo Chavez? Or must you insist on sidetracking because maybe it’s a bit embarassing for you as a leftie to have to admit there are some wackos on your side of the aisle in Hollywood? C’mon, I know you can do it!
Who cares what Harry belefonte says in the first place? I don’t, and it doesn’t matter, hes not a politician.
My point on Regan is the consequences of trying to stick our collective noses into other countries affairs. Overthrowing leaders we don’t like has dire consequences down the road, where an actor not in power, has little to none.
GBA, boy, are you sheltered. There have been law suits where subordinates have sexually harassed their superiors. There have been both gay and straight harassments.
As far as the left and the donkeycrats being tyranical, they are. Try the California Assembly. Try your local college campus. Just try any business where there is a union. Democrats have a bad habit of making tyranny their stock in trade.
akadad, we stuck our noses into Germany and in Japan’s affairs and they both turned out pretty good. Iraq will turn out fine. We may have to pay attention to Iran and North Korea before Hugo gets our full attention, but despots like him do attract the negative attention of bullets from his own people.
“Who cares what Harry belefonte says in the first place? I don’t, and it doesn’t matter, hes not a politician.”
Oh, now all of a sudden it doesn’t matter. Very convienient of you – I suppose that’s why you had to ask me if Hollywood Republicans were also Hollywierdos.
Yes, when we’ve got Hollywood blowhards who wants us to take what they have to say seriously (like Alec Baldwin, for example) yes – what they say on a world stage does matter, because their open declaration of support in of a socialist like Chavez in oppostion to “BushHitler” is embarassing to this country, not to mention the fact that it gives aid and comfort to an enemy of this country. Belafonte is free to say what he wants, and I’m free to call him on it too. He’s far from the only one.
I was going to give you the last word, since its your blog, but I can’t let one thing go.
Free speech, does not equate, to “giving aid and comfort to the enemy”. If that were the case, then all the Republicans who criticized Clinton, were guilty of “giving aid and comfort to the enemy”, unless there is a double standard.
“With freedom comes responsibility.”
PCD,
Anyone can sue anyone. This has no bearing on whether they actually have a case.
Unions built this country. You being in CA should know how important they really are with all of the rail lines, canneries, and truckers. have they gotten out of hand? Perhaps
And most folks are Dixiecrats down here. Not myself I am a Republican. I know I sure sound like a crat but I have distanced myself from the party because it has been hijacked by extremist religious fundementalist and corruption. Clinton was dirty but they love him here. All those Elis are dirty. Had Kerry won it would be no different, he’s dirty too. Ronnie was the man. And I deeply admire Carter post Presidential work. He may have been a weak Prez but at least he was honest and forthcoming.
GBA,
I’ve got an idea who you are. I’m not in CA, but in Iowa. I’ve openly posted that before. You sound like the whackos associated with Doris Allen and Buck Johns. Doris is dead and Johns is a joke, along with Arianna Huffington. I suppose you are going to say you are good friends with Paul Horcher, the recalled RINO who “Hoovered” Willie Brown after he lost his CA Assembly seat because of his vote to keep Brown as speaker of the Assembly when the Democrats were the minority. Again, another example of Democrat tyranny.
akadad, Clinton didn’t fight the war on terror. He surrendered and went on his sexcapade with Lewinsky and whatever other woman he could grope, etc. But you are really just morally equivocating to save face here.
PCD,
You lost me pal.
I have no idea who any of those people are. I have to plead ignorance as to those folks. But if you are in Iowa then use IBP as a union example. That’s a great one because it has a bloody history.
I am at my spot in Arkansas but I live and work most of the time in New Jersey.
GBA,
Oh, I could use John Deere with their nasty UAW locals or any company that has to deal with the Teamsters and their goons, but my favorite is the city Police and Fire unions. Their Presidents are pretty far left and forget about the law all the time.
But, the real point is that you think you know much, but when challenged, you know nothing.
Know Nothings used to be an American political party. A small reminder, the Left has never supported an authoritarian regime. If they had the United States, today, would be either a Fascist or a Communist state. The Left are the real conservatives, small “c”. The Left is trying to expand individual rights not restrict them as the Rightwing is trying to do. Peace
PCD,
The UAW is part of the AFL-CIO.
I am not sure you understand how diversified the Teamsters (IBT)are. I deal with the teamsters all the time. I am an owner and I have never had a strike or labor dispute. In my particular case the teamsters help me provide better medical/dental coverage for my employees.
This is because they have the power to get the best rates from the insurance companies. My people pay ten bucks on every thousand as thier premium. I would never be able to provide them with such coverage. And I am proud to say that my employees will have good pensions when they decide to retire. But I can totally see wher they can cripple high volume commodity based business’. I really care for my those who work for me and I am proud to have a union shop.
During the UPS strike a Democrat former Mayor of Dubuque wrote an editorial in the local rag praising union picketline violence. Not long ago the Teamster President personally sent his electoral rival to the hospital before a Teamster local election. Yeah, some peace.
“With freedom comes responsibility.”
we talking about publishing cartoons or what?
“we talking about publishing cartoons or what? ”
No.
ST,
Why is Chavez a direct threat to The United States?
“Why is Chavez a direct threat to The United States?”
Who said he was a ‘direct threat’ to the US, GBA? One more of your many strawmen again?
ST,
Your really like to say strawman alot.
Let me get this straight you post a negative thread about the bonehead. In the past you have made negative references to Chavez.
Are you posting this stuff because you think he’s a everyday democratically elected leader?
So allow me to redirect.
How in the world is this guy any threat to the United States whatsoever?
Do you think he says these things to be antagonistic or do you think he just trying to stay alive?
‘”we talking about publishing cartoons or what? ”
No. ‘
Some freedoms come with less responsibility than others, it seems.
“Your really like to say strawman alot.”
Because you really like to use them alot.
“Let me get this straight you post a negative thread about the bonehead. In the past you have made negative references to Chavez.”
“Are you posting this stuff because you think he’s a everyday democratically elected leader?”
Huh? He IS the leader of Venezuela.
“How in the world is this guy any threat to the United States whatsoever?”
Because of the friendly alliances he’s made or is making with regimes hostile to the US, like Cuba, Iran, and Hamas. He represents a potentially destabilizing threat to the region. You mentioned earlier (or perhaps it was in another thread?) that you were a big fan of Reagan. I have little doubt that Chavez would be despised by Reagan today if he were alive to witness what was going on down there.
“Do you think he says these things to be antagonistic or do you think he just trying to stay alive?”
I think he says them to be antagonistic, and to make himself look like a tough guy to not only his supporters in Venezuela but his pals elsewhere (like the ones I mentioned earlier).
“Some freedoms come with less responsibility than others, it seems.”
As usual, you don’t get it, andrew, and never will.
ST,
I think he’s scared.
“As usual, you don’t get it, andrew, and never will.”
Of course. Cartoons and violence? how can anyone confuse that with anythin else?
Most foreign countries are hostile, these days, to the United States. And if their governments are not hostile, their public is. Actually, they hate bush not most of us, especially not the Left. You Rightwing Christian types may have a problem. Although, the Islamo-fascists seem to dislike the same things you do like, gays and women and so on. I digress. Peace
I may have been wrong to tell you to pit the Hookah down, better throw another jag in and go back to sleep. While you’re doing that, think about what I’ve told you before about your acne infested theories. You being among the worlds elite among the clueless, do not, nor will dolts like you, ever have any idea, how people such as myself think. Your pretentious and asinine disrespect for America and the men and women who’ve created and maintained it, long before you even uttered your first immature babbling continues to demonstrate your ignorant pattern. Respect. Honor. Try it! President Bush is spelled as shown. That kind of typical childish swipe at the President (it’s actually the Office your pissin’ on) and your inane kosmic droning is why you’re not taken seriously. I put Carter and Clinton in caps, even though I have little respect for either of them personally.
steve incoherently says, Although, the Islamo-fascists seem to dislike the same things you do like, gays and women and so on.
Perhaps you need to rephrase that.
Christian right as you so deem the entire Republican party (and incorrectly I might add), does tolerate actions of ‘gays’ as you put it, but when that which they hold dear to, like he sanctity of marriage is encroached on they do tend to stand up and take notice.
Also you try and smear the right as against or in your words ‘dislike’ gays and women, and we know what a bastion the democrat party is for minorities (history of blacks is all you need).
But, I again need ot go back and show your incorrect assertions, I assume you mispoke, so I will take it as that.
The Islamo-fascists do not dislike, they HATE gays, they HATE religous freedom, they HATE freedom of speech, ect. And if they could have thier way, they would kill everyone of the above, anyone who is gay, anyone who is not of thier religon, and freedom of speech. DEATH TO ALL. Until it is nothing but Sharia Law, and Islam rules hte world, and those that do not follow are either dead or Dhimmi (submissive) to ISlam.
There is BIG difference between how they want things and how the ‘religous right’ want things.
When have you seen massive riots by the Christians where they burned down Mosques? Stoned and burnt alive gays and athiests?
Where have we seen Paris burning? Why? Muslum Intolerance is why.
Where have we seen Embassies burning? Why? Muslim Intolerance is why.
McDonalds being burned down? KFC? Banks?
Yes they say it is over cartoons.
And Mcdonalds published them?
The banks did?
KFC did?
The Danish did, yet as everyone is ont to do, BLAME BUSH, BLAME AMERICA…DEATH TO AMERICA, TO HELL WITH FREEDOM (love that one, talk about idiots)
So Danish drew cartoon images of their prophet, yet thier have through the CENTURIES been images of the prophet, why now are thier riots, and why lashing out at everyone and not just Danish?
Because these Silamo Fascists you term, care nothing of this, it is an outlet, a reason to burn, kill and murder everything they HATE. It is a means to justify themselves for murder, arson and crime.
But remember we should be tolerant as they burn everything down, kill people. We need to understand thier anger. We need to talk to them.
Remember, they are the religon of peace.
And boy are they showing it.
Perhaps the cartoons were right on the mark.
