It’s been two years …

… and we still miss you so very much, President Reagan. :-<

I wrote this earlier this year, and it still holds true today:

Missin’ President Reagan 3/8/06

Here's to you, Mr. President I just got done blogging at B4B about how USSC Chief Justice John Roberts’ speech today at the Reagan Presidential Library has me a little nostalgic this evening about the Gipper.

Every once in while – especially during some of the heavier bickering back and forth between the parties, and with the lack of leadership shown from some prominent Republicans these days, I think about President Reagan and what an inspiration he was not just to conservatives, but to everyone. His average approval rating while in office was 57%. When he left office, he was at 64%. Not bad for a guy who the press routinely implied was a dumb cowboy!

I miss his humor, his strength, his courage, his wisdom, and his incredible speeches. Plainly put: I just miss him.

I still remember the Carter mess and how quickly RR changed the world.

      Amen to that, ST.

A nation is blessed with the likes of Ronald Reagan maybe once every few generations. Like you, I still miss him terribly, but we have to consider how fortunate we were to have had him at a time in our history when a leader like him was most needed.

I think part of the depth of love the country still has for him, even 18 years after leaving office, is that he so clearly LOVED America, its promise, and its people. And seeing that, we couldn’t help but love him right back.

    3. - Men like Reagan are a timeless reminder, as much as their own excellance in office and statesmanship, as a glaring example of the types of political hacks we as a people have to endure for generations before another like him comes along.

      - I for one, would love to see his likeness on Rushmore, joining the other exemplory leaders of our nation’s history. His type of determination, and love for his people and country, deserves to be captured for all time.

I saw a <):) Reagan tribute video earlier this morning.

:o) Sam Donaldson stood up in a press conference and noted that <):) President Reagn had blamed mistakes of the past and congress for the recession. :o) Sam then asked

      oops…

      please excuse the technical difficulties.

    7. - The troglidite’s of the left will never stop trying to tarnish Reagans image, because he proved them so completely wrong in so many ways. Small minds, with over inflated ego’s and Donaldson is one of the ring leaders. His problem is there’s lots of video’s of his newscasts, showing him speaking idiocies to power on countless occasions. He should just STFDASTFU. But Liberals are too stupid to know when to quit.
