Media double standard on over the top rhetoric continues

It’s been three days since former CIA officer and darling of the hate-Bush anti-war left Larry C. Johnson was reported by the blog Sweetness and Light as making the following comments about Karl Rove’s mother (emphasis added):

Karl is a shameless bastard. Small wonder his mother killed herself. Once she discovered what a despicable soul she had spawned she apparently saw no other way out. It would be one thing if his vile tactics were simply mere smears of politicians like Kerry and Murtha. They are big boys and should be able to defend themselves quite ably against this turd.

I ask again: where’s the media outrage like the media outrage we saw over Ann Coulter’s comments about the “Jersey Girls”? Johnson is well known among the hardcore left. And he’s well known in the media, too. His own bio confirms it:

Mr. Johnson has analyzed terrorist incidents for a variety of media including the Jim Lehrer News Hour, National Public Radio, ABC’s Nightline, NBC’s Today Show, the New York Times, CNN, Fox News, and the BBC. Mr. Johnson has authored several articles for publications, including Security Management Magazine, the New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times.

I guess when he’s attacking the admin on le affaire de Plame and the Iraq war, the MSM will give him the time of day. When he’s busy saying beyond the pale nasty things about Republicans that have nothing to do with admin policies (like he did with Rove, and also with Charles Krauthammer as well as conservative blogger George from the Seixon blog), the MSM don’t care to repeat them (those link results were what was found via Google News as of a few minutes ago).
