Nobel Peace prize winner would “love to kill George Bush”

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.
Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush.
“I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence’, because I don’t believe that I am non-violent,” said Ms Williams, 64.
“Right now, I would love to kill George Bush.” Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.
Nothin’ like startin’ ‘em to hate when they’re young, eh?
I’m sure this “fiesty” Irish woman who said to schoolchildren that she’d love to kill the President didn’t mean it literally. Nevertheless, it was a stupid thing to say, especially in front of impressionable children.
What I want to know, however, is WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? THE CONDEMNATION?????

What I want to know is, where the hell where all these people when Saddam was slaughtering women and children? Where was this idiot when Saddam was torturing children and having women raped by his henchmen? These people are not anti-war, anti-violence, or anti-”poor civilians being killed”, they are anti-American or anti-Bush, plain and simple.
I am really getting fed up with this kind of crap. These people are nothing but hypocrites. Maybe it’s because they don’t fear retaliation from Bush, but know that they might face the working end of an AK-47 or an IED if they insult a muslim leader. In that case, they are nothing but cowards.
Nobel WHAT prize?! What a joke…
I’ve seen this story. Disgusting. NC Cop’s right on the money and that “Peace” prize, wasn’t it once given to Arafat? Like camojack said, it’s a joke.
This was not MENTIONED by any msm or even Fox as far as I know — this is pitful. The left in this country can threaten a President’s life and nothing is said and a Conservative can say something, anything, and the msm goes balistic.
I hope the SECRET SSERVICE and FBI and CIA keep an eye on this loony broad.
Because it happens so much (threats), that most people tend to chalk it up to another crazy loon that the press is giving time too.
Unfortunately, I think we as a nation suffer from the same syndrome. That if we are hit repeatedly over and over again with the same garbage, day-in and day-out, that we tend to become immune or non-plussed to the effects of it.
Should we be shocked at violence, or at sex being taught in schools, or God and any mention of it being removed from schools, or be a Muslim for a day or be a Jew for a day being taught in schools…?
We are hit with the same garbage all the time, and until something actually happens to YOU or ME personally, I do not think we will be overly affected with outrage or indignation.

Nobel Peace Prize…Pulitzer Prize…These prizes have become a joke. My bicycle safety award, or my ribbon for my a 5 mile hike in the cub scouts seem a little more prestigous.
I agree. The Nobel peace prize became unimportant when it was given to Arafat. Arafat never wanted peace. It became a joke when they started to use it as a political tool.
As far as this woman’s comments, she is just another in a long line of useful idiots that like to see their names in news print. 1st off she brings up the 1st Gulf War. What did GW have to do with that??? How is it his fault. Billy Bob was President when we had embargos on Iraq. But yet somehow in this idiots hopeless logic it is GW’s fault. Also who’s fault was it that the United States was forced into military action in 1991???? Yes the answer is Sadamn Hussein. Who’s fault was it that there were embargo’s in place, again the answer is Sadamn. If he would of just stuck to the surrender agreement we would never had to have 12 UN resolutions or embargos or had to go back and kick his butt in 2003. But nooooo in the dream world of a good leftist, it is all George Bush’s fault. Not Kofi’s, who was installed into power in 1996, not Billy Bob’s who took office in 1993, NOPE it’s GW’s fault.
How do you reconcile such logic with reality??? I know that to be a good leftist you have to look at all things and think to yourself, “In a perfect world”. How the media thinks this woman is intelligent and somehow newsworthy is just beyond me. This is so laughable and sadly pathetic. – Lorica
