Rep. Duncan Hunter (52nd District in CA) was interviewed this morning on our local news/talk radio station here and he sounded really, really good. Of course, talk is cheap, so I’m fishing around to find out more about him regarding his Congressional votes, etc.
Anyway, here’s his website for anyone interested in learning more about him.
To this blog’s California readers who are familiar with Rep Hunter, how about shedding some more light on him in the comments section?
Hopefully 2008 will be a year we see some refreshing candidates, and not the same ol’ ones on either side of the aisle that have so much negative baggage.

I’d still like to see former Senator Fred Thompson run for the Republican Nomination.
Condi in 2008! An intelligent, strong and beautiful woman, she could team up with Nichelle Nichols to form a Republican Dream Team (my Dream Team, anyway).
Nichelle is probably a pinksqueak (she is a Hollywood actress after all), but at least she beats Hilly the Hun as eye-candy. And it would be fun watching the Democratic nominee and the predominantly white MSM lecture Condi and Nichelle on how to be black.
Fred still on Law and Order benning? I love that show and yes, he’d make a good Prez and I wouldn’t mind Hunter, Condi, Romney, Rudi …. anybody but mccain.
>my Dream Team, anyway
Those kinds of dreams belong somewhere other than the White House.
As much as I like and admire Condi Rice, she does not have the experience necessary to run the country. And keep in mind that her positions on many of the important issues we face are, at best, ambiguous. We can’t elect a cypher based solely on image. On the other hand, we know exactly where Duncan Hunter stands. Looking at his voting record among other things, Hunter may indeed be the right man for the job.
Duncan Hunter is the closest thing to Reaganesque you will find, with 2 exceptions.
1. He often works so late into the night that he sleeps on a couch in his office, which leaves him looking somewhat rumpled the next day, where President Reagan was always immaculate. But the president can work all hours, then go upstairs to get some sleep, and change his suit.
2. The other difference — a big one — is he is adamantly against amnesty for illegal aliens.
Duncan’s other website is his PAC: LINK
I’ve known Duncan and his family for the better part of two decades, and it’ll be a pleasure to support him in this race.
