Now, he has an Emmy, too

LOS ANGELES (AP) – So he wasn’t elected president. Big deal. How many other presidential candidates have an Emmy and an Oscar sitting on the shelf at home?

Former Vice President Al Gore took home an Emmy Sunday night for creative achievement in interactive television for Current TV, his youth-oriented television channel.

“We are trying to open up the television medium so that viewers can help them make television and join the conversation of democracy and reclaim American democracy by talking about the choices we have to make,” Gore said as he accepted the award.

“Reclaim” American democracy? I didn’t know it went anywhere. Well, ok, I know to the Goracle and other Bush-hating lefties, it went “somewhere” when the 2000 elections were supposedly “stolen” but then again, he and his supporters don’t exactly live in reality, do they?

In related news, actress Sally Field also won an Emmy tonight, and used it as an opportunity to bash men, fathers, and war, all in the last sentence of her speech on winning the award. Liberal blogs are already expressing their displeasure because that part of her speech was bleeped out. I think it was because she used a curse word prior to it, but they’re assuming a Fox conspiracy of sorts.

Mon AM Update: Don Surber on the Sally Field ‘controversy’:

1. You have to be a government in order to censor.

2. They cut her off when she used the G-word. This was an over-the-air show that is regulated by the FCC.

You know, maybe if lefties could learn to complete a simple declarative sentence without swearing, they would not run into these problems.

He also points to a WaPo piece which notes that Field wasn’t the only one who had her cursing bleeped out by Fox. Funny how we’re not seeing the lefty outrage over that, too.

And Bob Owens blogs about the issue as well, and points out the dishonesty of LA Times blogger Tom O’Neil, who is acting in the role of Sally Field apologist.
