Despite believing Dick Cheney is a real-life version of the imperialist Darth Vadar …

… House Democrats don’t want to debate a resolution that calls for his impeachment, and have effectively killed the resolution, which was written by Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

Why won’t they press to impeach a man many of them believe is a “war criminal”? Politics, of course – which is also exactly why they haven’t tried to impeach the President. They know their base would support it, but I’m sure they’ve done extensive polling which suggests that the rest of America doesn’t support it. If they believed a majority of the American people would be on board with it, they’d be all over the Kucinich resolution in a New York minute.

So House Democrats have decided to keep the “criminals” in the WH for now because apparently they’re ok with those “criminals” committing more “crimes,” so long as it means that next year, the Dems’ majority in Congress increases, and they regain control of the WH.

It’s all about priorities, you see …

More: Impeached judge turned Congresssional rep. Alcee Hastings said today about Kucinich: “[He] is on a quest of his own. He sees flying saucers and he acts like one, too.”

You gotta love Alcee Hastings…at least with this particular comment. The loony Dems really got their backsides handed to them this time. Is it me or do the Republicans to do better when they are the minority?

    Zee,

There has rarely been a clearer example of how dishonest the Democrats are, then this vote.

If they truly thought that Cheney is a traitor who needed to be impeached, than they wouldn’t have backed down.
    But they did.
Which makes it clear who the traitor really is.

Unfortunately, it would take too long to impeach every traitor in congress who voted for this resolution only to back down when they were called on their bluff.

I’m still amused by how much the media touts Dubya’s low approval ratings, while ignoring Congress’ even lower ones… :-w
