Bush vetoing pork bills like he should have been vetoing all along

His vetoing of the health and education bill Democrats sent to him, which supposedly had “strong bipartisan support,” is obviously welcome from conservatives, considering the significant amount of pork ($10 bil) attached to it. Sure would have been nice to see him rein in spending from the Republican Congresses he had just as much as he has the Dem Congress, tho.

In other Congressional news, the Dem “leaders” in the House and Senate are threatening – again – to cut off funding for our troops in Iraq until the President starts sending some of them home (h/t: James Joyner). Apparently they haven’t learned from their 40 or so past failures on attempts like this one this year.
