HuffPo fruitcake: Obama could be assassinated by Halliburton or Blackwater

Warner Todd Huston has the details of HuffPo blogger Joseph Palermo’s fawning write-up on Obama where Palermo compares the O-man to RFK, and how he believes that Obama could be assassinated by Halliburton or Blackwater:

Want some old fashioned black helicopter, conspiracy goofiness? Check out the frenzied work of HufPoster Joseph Palmero who imagines that if Obama becomes president members of Blackwater security services or Haliburton would somehow decide to assassinate him. After reading his wild-eyed musings, one wonders if the foam from his mouth short circuited his keyboard as he wrote?

In an effort to equate Obama’s rather empty rhetoric and lack of a substantive record to what Palmero imagines his lefty pals will imagine is “greatness,” Palmero tries to work in some equating of the junior Senator from Illinois with Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign for the Dem nomination for president in 1968. Saying that Obama “struck similar chords” as Kennedy, Palmero waxes poetic about how it “took forty years” to see another Kennedyesque candidate.

But there was another, more sinister aspect of the Kennedy run that Palmero wanted to exploit with his piece. That aspect is the promise of a Kennedy panacea that was cut so short by an assassin’s bullet. Absurdly, Palmero seems to expect the same to happen to Barack Hussein Obama.

And why would they be such a threat to Barack “the magic negro” (as Rush Limbaugh so amusingly popularized the name for him last year)? It’s because Blackwater is run by a “right-wing Christian nationalist” and because they stand to “lose big time” with an Obama presidency, of course.

Here’s a snippet from Palermo’s rant:

Blackwater, that reactionary private mercenary outfit headed by the right-wing Christian nationalist Erik Prince stands to lose big time with an Obama presidency. Under George W. Bush Blackwater went from a marginal company with about $27 million in government contracts to a behemoth currently receiving over $1 billion in federal largesse.

It was revealed after the massacre of 17 Iraqis in Baghdad by Blackwater mercenaries that the U.S. State Department cannot function in Iraq without the services of the well-connected private company. Blackwater has a lot riding financially on keeping the Iraq occupation going and a lot to lose if it is ended. (Please read Jeremy Scahill’s book Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army.)

Under an Obama Administration Blackwater would no doubt be cut down to size along with Bush’s other crony capitalist entities. The Blackwater Boys no doubt have close friends and ideological soul mates deep inside the federal security services.

Bbbbut isn’t Obama a warmonger himself?

This isn’t unlike uber liberal talk show host Randi “I don’t know how I fell and hurt myself” Rhodes’ assertion that somehow Blackwater may have started the devastating California wildfires. She also asserted this after the US took care of business with Zarqawi last June:

RANDI RHODES: Even the White House Press Secretary says this today at the press briefing. He says if you look at some of the al-Qaeda memos to Zarqawi, where you had direct leads, will you please stop beheading people, it’s bad PR. I think you have to say to yourself, my God, al-Qaeda is telling Zarqawi to cut the crap with the killing of Iraqis and yet we haven’t cut the crap with the killing of the Iraqis.

[…]

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead. Bush’s #1 boogie man in Iraq has been killed in an air strike. So the war’s over, right? No. Well, the majority of the killing and violence must be over, right? No. Does anything really change? No.

The war in Iraq is primarily a civil war coupled with an insurgency pushing back against those who invaded and now occupy their country. Al Qaeda wasn’t in Iraq until Bush blew it up. And now they have a new martyr to bootÒ€¦one who was built up by Bush himself.

These people have cracked up big time. Who knows what nonsense they’ll spit out next? Something about banning hedge trimmers and Hummers, perhaps?
