Berkeley protests – in pictures

Hot off the presses, here are the first round of pix from Zombietime on yesterday’s protests and counter-protests in Berkeley.

I guess these anti-war high school students who joined in on the protest received a “get out of school free” pass?

The SF Chronicle reports that at last night’s big meeting, the City Council “backed down” on their stance against the Marines. Don Surber esentially says that this “back down” is all well and good, but it’s unacceptable that Berkeley still hasn’t apologized to the troops.

Gotta disagree – why ask someone to apologize for something if it’s obvious they really believe it? Their despicable words and actions pretty much speak for themselves, and an apology, IMO, would really be meaningless.
