Not so fast, sez Hillary:
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Hillary Clinton compared her effort to seat Florida and Michigan delegates to epic American struggles, including those to free the slaves and win the right to vote for blacks and women.
The current stalemate over the two states’ primary votes threatens to replicate the disputed 2000 presidential election in Florida, she warned an elderly crowd in Palm Beach County – one of the jurisdictions where Democrats allege voters were disenfranchised in 2000.
The pointed speech marked the kick-off of a last-gasp effort by Clinton to prolong her Democratic presidential campaign by making the states count, which would cut into rival Barack Obama’s leads in popular votes and pledged delegates.
“In Florida, you learned the hard way what happens when your votes aren’t counted and the candidate with fewer votes is declared the winner,” she said. “The lesson of 2000 here in Florida is crystal clear: if any votes aren’t count, the will of the people isn’t realized and our democracy is diminished.”
Clinton, at times sounding like a modern history professor, praised the abolitionists, suffragettes and civil rights pioneers and talked about her own efforts to fight legislative redistricting and voter identification initiatives that she said dilute minority voting power.
“This work to extend the franchise to all of our citizens is a core mission of the modern Democratic party,” she said. “From signing the Voting Rights Act and fighting racial discrimination at the ballot box to lowering the voting age so those old enough to fight and die in war would have the right to choose their commander in chief, to fighting for multi-lingual ballots so you can make your voice heard no matter what language you speak.”
Dayum. Talk about laying it on thick. She’s pulling out a lot of the trademark Dem cards there, eh?
Here are some video snippets from her speech:

She told the AP that she would be willing to take the fight for FL and MI all the way to the convention if the states wanted to. Who’s she trying to kid here? She’s the one who wants to do it, probably more than anyone in either of those states.
The BO campaign is saying they are willing to go “more than halfway” on the compromise with Clinton over the MI/FL delegate dilemma. Riiiiight.
I remember some of the pundits were saying Tuesday night that even though her Kentucky win was impressive, that the odds were still big time stacked against her and they predicted after June 3rd, when the last Dem primaries are held (in Montana and South Dakota), she would bow out gracefully and start showing support for Obama.
From the sounds of things today, that ain’t gonna be happenin’.
The only question that remains is: Is there an organic food fight in the works?

What could she possibly mean by “the candidate with fewer votes is declared the winner?” She immediately follows by referring to 2000 – was there an election, other than the Presidential one at that time? I’m confused, because even a Democrat would have to concede that Bush won Florida.
Well, unless that Democrat were lying through her teeth. But what are the odds? A Democrat, a Clinton no less, making an untrue statement? It is to laugh.
Oh, and when she talked about “every vote being counted” she left out the part about “except for military absentee voters.” But maybe she was pressed for time.
Or under sniper fire. That’s always a handy excuse.
Wow, this is the energizer bunny of political campaigns. It just keeps going and going and going… And we continue to learn more and more about both Hillary and Barak Obama. And they keep making life easier for John McCain.
If Barak thinks he can win with the stands he has taken, he’s in for a rude shock once America sees him for the Socialist he really is. He better hope and pray that Fox News does not host any debates or else he is really going to be put on the spot and get asked really tough questions for the first time since he decided to run for President.
I’m confused; who IS in charge of the Democratic Party? No one? Everyone?
Moonbats are in charge, Tom, Moonbats!
Ain’t it fun to watch?
“We bought it, we own it, and we’re going to take it back.”
Those were the infamous words of MoveOn.org founder Eli Pariser, written right after the 2004 elections. Looks like he got his wish.
There’s your answer, Tom: the inmates really ARE running the Democrat asylum.
Well, it will be a lot fun in August for registered Democrats from Florida and Michigan to try to find out what happened to their primary votes!
Are the dems really going to dismiss fl and mich and have as a result an illegitemate nominee that was “selected, not elected”?
Wouldn’t the idea that she’d bow out gracefully after June 3rd imply that she has some sense of grace in the first place?
Does this not make your skin crawl? Could she possibly be any more demeaning to those who fought those very battles?

Leslie: Don’t forget she probably did all that and Moore……….either under heavy sniper fire or liberal doses of hallucinogenics.
