… the Obama handbag:

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama inspired celebrity handbag designer Timmy Woods to create a handbag based on the signs used by his campaign at rallies and speeches.

The first Obama Handbag will be given to the senator’s wife, Michelle.

“I hope she will get it in time to wear to the convention [next week],” Woods – whose work was featured on Sex and the City – said in a statement.

The bag is made from Acacia Wood and a portion of the its sales will go to charity.

And here’s what it looks like  (drumroll please):

I wonder if it would go well with MO’s $600 pair of earrings?? :-?

Let the jokes commence …

    Looks like a canteen.

A gay canteen. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

=))Well there is no accounting for taste is there. It almost looks like a candy disc, you know like a peppermint with a handle. Much to hippy for me thank you. I just wonder who will be, pardon the expression, “the sucker” who will buy it and actually walk round using it.

    Jo–
I used to be a hippie, and believe you me, we never had anything remotely as garish as this!

A brief description of the (normally) lovely Acacia Tree……..

Acacia is a genus of shrubs and trees of Gondwanian origin belonging to the Subfamily Mimosoideae of the Pea Family (Family Fabaceae).(Not to be confused with the Macaca family)

A durable hard wood from fast growing trees from the Far East and South America. The thin grain, the flame design and varied colour shades give furniture made from it a warm appearance. (So they *CHANGED* it into an edible pastel)

    Industrial and medicinal uses:
Various species of acacia yield gum. True gum arabic is the product of Acacia Senegal, abundant in dry tropical west Africa from Senegal to northern Nigeria. (…keepin’it real, since it’s from one of Americas 57 plus states…….)
