"We were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values."
-Obama, explaining recent Democrat losses, 1/20/10
CNN “interviews” Democrats but “debates” Republicans. CNN either doesn’t know the difference or chooses to ignore it.
When Megyn Kelly challenges other members of the media, a debate is entirely appropriate. When the media is trying to learn about a candidate an interview is appropriate. Rather than getting insight into Sara Palin’s makeup the audience learned Tucker Bounds was not prepared to debate.
Cambell Brown closed her ‘interview’ with John McCain strategist Tucker Bounds: “I appreciate you coming on and taking the time to have this debate.”
To Comment by omapian…I agree totally “interview” for Dems…”debate” for the Repubss…an addition to your comments about Campbell Brown vs Tucker Bounds…she called him “baby”…The next day when she was put in the position of explaining this, she said in a “flip” manner that she is a Southern girl & is always using honey, sweetie etc.
Sorry Campbell “honey”….I have seen & listened to you many times & I watched this intire “debate” you engaged in with Tucker. I have never, NEVER heard you call ANYONE honey, sweetie or baby…I didn’t even know U were a “Southern” girl…even so…Shame on you. It was so clear that you were baiting Tucker & when you opened the door on an issue, you ran full speed ahead & got your nails & hammer in preperation to nail him to the cross….Shame on you.
