Obama in Charlotte, NC today

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on September 21, 2008 at 4:03 pm

CNN was on the scene today for Barry Oh!’s Charlotte, NC rally, and has a photo posted showing a huge crowd. So glad I didn’t go to this one. The first one was quite enough.

I’m putting out the call once again for McCain-Palin to visit this state. The polls show that it’s not going to be a “gimme” this year for Republicans. This state’s demographics are constantly changing, and we’ve seen an influx of both Yankees (and I say that term affectionately) and Hispanics the past 10 or so years. So if Obama does win this state, it won’t be because your country conservatives have all of a sudden gone liberal Democrat. It will be because of the moderate tilt of a majority of the voters who have moved here over the last decade.

I’m one of those Yankees who have moved to North Carolina, although I did it 18 years ago which makes me damn near a native here in Charlotte. I’m not so worried about Obama taking NC but I thought I read somewhere that McCain was coming here next week. I hope that’s correct. Obama will take our county and RTC but I’m still relatively confident the rest of the state is solidly conservative.

Don’t know ’bout NC, but I’ve got tickets for a McCain/Palin appearance about 13½ miles from “La Casa de Camo” (my rambling estate) happening this evening… :d
