Via the Telegraph (from over the weekend):
Former US president Jimmy Carter said he expected no major change in Iran’s policies with Mr Ahmadinejad’s reelection.
“I think this election has bought out a lot of opposition to his policies in Iran, and I’m sure he’ll listen to those opinions and hopefully moderate his position,” he said.
No matter what you believe about the validity or invalidity of the results of the Iranian election, ya gotta hand it to Jimmy Carter. Just when you thought he couldn’t get anymore embarrassing. Or clueless.
Speaking of – meanwhile, back at the White House ….

What kind of dope has Jimmy Carter been smoking these days?!?!?!?! – Lorica
Are we sure Jimmy isn’t going senile? Granted, he was an awful president and he’s a bitter, sanctimonious, anti-Semitic ex-president, but some of these statements are just too stupid to come from someone of sound mind.
Aren’t they?
(And thanks for the link!
)
Jimmy Carter’s maorning routine.
1 Wake up
2 Kis pictures of Castro, Chavez, Che, Pol Pot, Ortega and Yassar Arafat.
3 Say something completely clueless
4 Blame America for everything.
5 Repeat!
I just was reading that Layfayette upon arriving in America said “the welfare of America is intimately connected with the happiness of all mankind.” These words are as true today as they were in 1777. America was founded by great men, and they inspired greatness. I just don’t see it from bb brained fools like Jimmy or Barack or Biden. – Lorica
Anthony, Jimmuh isn’t going senile, he was that way long before seeing the digs on Pennsylvania Ave in 1977.
And, as my dear departed momma used to say, “Consider the source.”
This is the kind of stuff we can expect from President Obama if and when he ever leaves the White House.
There is something terribly wrong with Carter’s brain. I think it may be time for him to move into an assisted living home. I’m not being mean. I’m serious as hell because of the crap that comes out of his mouth.
This is why I continue to insist that Carter ranks second to last (behind Buchanan) among our presidents.
Why does he continue to open his mouth?!?!?!?
From Fox News.Com:
Yet he doesn’t feel personally responsible for the tens of 1000s of deaths in Iran over the years. Awwww Isn’t Jimmie special. I will not shed a single tear when this man is no longer amongst the living. – Lorica
The spew that comes out of this guy’s mouth is less surprising to me than the fact that it gets covered in the press at all. I mean, how does he manage to get reporters to write about him?
Here is a guy whose presidency during the late ’70s could hardly be called a success. Domestically, he inherited an economic mess that had its roots in the LBJ administration and was done no favors during Nixon and Ford’s presidencies. Carter’s insistence on repeating the mistakes of the past, namely price controls, despite development of new economic models did nothing to ameliorate the situation. As for foreign affairs, Carter’s constant attempts at appeasement were hardly regarded as a triumph either at home or abroad; he was basically labeled an impotent crank both by our allies and opposition. The upshot was the Iranian Hostage Crisis and Reagan’s history-making upset in the 1980 elections. The conclusion can be drawn that as a people, Americans were glad to see him go.
If Carter’s coverage was merely an uptick during the Obama administration, that would be one thing. But this has been going on for years and years. What’s the attraction? Simply because he’s a living past president? That’s unlikely, as we see no such interest in Bush I or Clinton. What the hell does he represent to the left side of the aisle? Or is this simply a case of attempting to rewrite the course of history?
Is it time to develop a solution for him along the lines of Robert Ludlum’s Parsifal Mosaic?
-Layfayette
-Jimmy Carter
Leslie, I still have to disagree with you. William Henry Harrison will always be at the bottom of the worst Presidents list. What kind of man would give a 8444 word speech that took 2 hours to read in the cold rain. It was a very foolish thing to do and the consequences were his very life.
Here we are 30 years away from Carter allowing Iran to be taken back into the dark ages and now he believes that he should say something besides “I’m Sorry for my idiotic actions as President”. – Lorica
OMG!!! Almost done in by the same people who he is trying to help.
You have to wonder just how warm and fuzzy Carter feels now about the Palestinians. – Lorica
Lorica, he’s too dumb to realize he was their target. I’m sure he thought they were anti-personnel mines intended for the coming Israeli invasion (that somehow has not materialized.)
he is an idiot…..has no shame
Lorica….you know those guys were only mad at the US Government for it’s policies, not dear sweet Jimmy.
I wonder how he sleeps at night…oh yeah, having no conscience helps a lot.
Kate, did you mean “conscience” or “conscious”?
