Hillary Clinton apologizes in India for US “climate change mistakes”

Via the AP:

MUMBAI, India — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton opened a three-day visit to India on Saturday by urging India not to repeat American mistakes in contributing to global pollution, and she passionately defended U.S. demands for help in fighting terrorism.

“We acknowledge now with President Obama that we have made mistakes in the United States, and we along with other developed countries have contributed most significantly to the problem that we face with climate change,” she said. “We are hoping a great country like India will not make the same mistakes.”

She was referring to Obama’s statement in Italy earlier this month that the U.S. had “sometimes fallen short” of its responsibilities in controlling its carbon emissions.

By the time the first (and hopefully only) term of this administration is over, is there anything the US will not have apologized for? 8-|

That’s kind of like apologizing for the fact the sun rises in the East, or apologizing for the fact that we have tides. But, punitive liberalism is upon us, everything in the universe is the US’s fault, to be apologized for and worse, compensated for by US money.

Self flagellation…at least the penitents used to only whip themselves.

This is simply another manifestation of liberal arrogance. Even as she’s confessing America’s guilt for yet more sins against mankind, the planet, the universe, and the dinosaurs, she’s treating India like a teenager in need of a lecture.

It’s like a parent who catches the 13-year old doing something wrong, and the youngster responds with “But you did such-and-such when you were my age”. And the parent says, yes, but I was wrong, and now I’m wiser, so you should listen to me. That’s exactly what we have here. Shorter Hillary: we liberals are smarter than you, so do as I say.

Except that “climate change” is a hoax and a cult, and everything we’ve done that supposedly caused the problem has given us the highest standard of living in history and helped the prosperity of all mankind. India isn’t stupid – they see how progress is made and they want it. Hence the extended middle finger they’re giving Obama’s whimpering about “climate change”. I suspect that China will do exactly the same thing if she tries the same nonsense with them.

You know they’ll never apologize for they themselves being here, just for the rest of us moronic Americans past, present and future. That’s because they, unlike us, are here to save mankind (led of course, by the savior himself).

What a foolish, arrogant, self-centered and pitiful group of self-serving autocratic misfits in a lawful society.

  4. Ron Russell says:

According to the liberal crowd we are a sorry nation–very sorry. We have not considered anyother country but our own. We owe the world an apology and those on the left have been doing that for years—has it done any good, hell no!

  5. Steve Skubinna says:

Again, and this is a phrase that I am going to wear out before three and a half years, this is exactly what we voted for. “We” voted to have our nation economically hamstrung and diplomatically humiliated. This is the result of our national temper tantrum, and those of us who did not want this are along for the ride regardless.

What we can do is to refuse to play their game. I am NOT going to sew a Canadian flag on my backpack, pretend to be something other than American when abroad, petulantly express a desire to emigrate which everyone knows is a lie, or childishly believe that my pretend European friends will like me if I trash talk my own nation.

Even when my nation bangs on its high chair and flings strained beets across the kitchen I can still act like an adult. But in the short term, this is what we voted for. Practice your dismissive shrugs, because otherwise you are going to wear down your tooth enamel.

  6. Kate says:

Yes, truly grinding of teeth will occur, but the liberals expect dissenters to also bite their tongues and not speak up….while they make all kinds of apologetic noises and whimpers abroad. How much of this do you really think India will take to heart?

Oh, Yes, Madam Secretary of State of the auspicious leader President Obama…oh yes, we will kowtow to your polite neighing and we will immediately conclude all our industrial efforts which are polluting with nasty, nasty carbons into the universal sky. We want to be like you the shining light of environmentalism. Now, please go wash yourself in the Ganges and enjoy our nice clean water. Hope you got your diphtheria shot.

Has any single country done as much for the world, as the United States has done?? If we are going to apologize perhaps we should apologize for the huge waste of tax dollars that was used to make the food, or blankets or whatever humanitary aid we have given to the world. Hasn’t our very prosperity, lowered pollution levels world wide?? Hasn’t our sharing of these technologies helped every country world wide?? Some poster named John recently blah blah blah’d about the poorest countries of the world, but refused to acknowledge that the best way to help these countries was to increase technological education.

The sad fact is that the best way India could help itself, is to advance their technologies. Not by limiting it’s population. Which in India, you are dealing with over 30 different people groups and a caste society. Any law that would limit children would only be forced upon the lowest caste. – Lorica

  8. I can just imagine the Indians sitting there listening to her and thinking

    This woman is frigging nuts

  9. Carlos says:

In other words, Tom, they’d just be catching up to where we on the conservative side are!

  10. Steve Skubinna says:

Actually, I was in India last year. They’ve got a lot going for them, and one of the things Bush 43 had right was stepping up efforts to forge common bonds. We could do a whole lot worse than having India on our side.

But with Obama, who do we get on our side? Chavez and the Castro brothers.

  11. Tango says:

….Hillary, who still has visions of being president, is in danger of becoming a laughingstock.

I can’t help but think she realizes she’s been effectively marginalized by BarryO.
