Exceptionally rude Dem Congressman gets praised by the ‘paragon of civility’

The Politico reports:

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) is drawing criticism from his congressional colleagues, but President Obama offered him some warm words at a Miami fundraiser for the Democratic congressional campaign committees last night.

Obama, in introducing the members of Congress in attendance, called Grayson – along with Florida Reps. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Kendrick Meek – as “outstanding members of Congress.”

Obama may regret his praise of Grayson, who is now drawing fire from members in both parties for referring to Linda Robertson, the adviser to Obama’s Fed Chief Ben Bernanke as a “K Street whore” in a radio interview last month. And he’s received national attention for equating GOP opposition to the Democrats’ health care plan to wanting sick seniors to “die quickly.”

This isn’t the first time the White House political operation has given an assist to Grayson’s re-election prospects. He was the first freshman Democrat in the House to receive political help from Vice President Joe Biden, who came down to Orlando to headline a fundraiser for him in August.

Read this early October post from Michelle Malkin for more on how “outstanding” Grayson has been over the last year (the WSJ blog has more here). She wonders in her current post on the issue:

So, either Obama is inexplicably clueless or he really does give Alan Grayson’s potty mouth two thumbs up.

I vote for clueless.

Grayson, BTW, has issued an “apology” for the “K-Street whore” remarks.

    I say he’s both!!!

    Who’s running against this idiot???

Hey, everyone. Surprise. These are politicians. They don’t mean what they say and they say what they don’t mean. AND they are low life scum bags into the bargain. The day of statesmen are long gone.

  4. LC Gregory says:

One of the biggest differences between us and them – for them, a quick apology is the end of things. Our guys get pilloried for years despite numerous apologies.

  5. I think it’s option number 2. Obama is lots of things, but stupid is not on the list.

  6. Carol says:

Never in my wildest dreams did I believe we would have a CIC who is this ignorant. To introduce Grayson as an “outstanding member of Congress” is just another sign that this guy’s in way over his head. Keep campaigning, Mr. Obama, so we can watch “Obami” implode from within. Too bad it’s at a heavy price for our soldiers. Shame on you, Mr. President.

Vegas, Duh-1 isn’t stupid, but he is first and foremost a Chicago Machine thug and a street hustler. Given those two things, he is incredibly inept (which makes him look stupid to those with a working, reasonable brain) at some of the finer things in life, like differentiating between another thug and those he considers his “marks”.

Remember, he is our first Affirmative Action president, and as such doesn’t have to meet the standards anyone else who’s ever held that office had to meet.

  8. Kate says:

Hey Carlos, you are onto something there…his Affirmative Action status gives him a grace period and extra time for remediation. He just hasn’t had the same opportunities to gain leadership experience, either. Hence, the need for all the czars and czarinas.

While the Florida potty mouth says he’s sorry for his poor choice of words, the rest of use catch his drift and know he’s only done so to save a little face with the ignorant masses.

  9. Carlos says:

Nah, Kate, he doesn’t get remedial cover because it’s denigrating to those not qualified in the first place, so as long as he doesn’t rob a bank – oh, strike that, he’s taken them over – so long as he doesn’t heist a car – oh, strike that one, too, GM, ya know – well, as long as he doesn’t personally kill someone in front of a worldwide audience, he’ll be given a pass because, after all, he IS president, ya know, and we aren’t…
