Left wing writers/columnists/commentators have “off-the-record” lunch with Obama
Via Fishbowl DC:
Politico reports that CNN’s David Gergen, WaPo’s Chris Cillizza, Newsweek’s Jon Meacham and Howard Fineman, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Cynthia Tucker, Politico’s Mike Allen, NPR/Fox’s Mara Liasson, TPM’s Josh Marshall and NYT’s David Brooks, Andy Rosenthal, and Gail Collins joined the President, David Axelrod, Anita Dunn, Bill Burton and Robert Gibbs for an off-the-record lunch today.
Lunch apparently lasted two hours and green salad, halibut and pear tart were served.
No word yet on how the sour grapes tasted.
This is becoming a regular occurrence, isn’t it? What’s happening with this WH? Are they so concerned now about MSM journalists like Jake Tapper asking them tough questions that they’ve taken to meeting “off-the-record” with liberal talking heads (and David Brooks – I know, same thing) in an effort to get “the real truth” out? Answer: Most likely. Hell, that’s why they’re pretty much boycotting Fox News at this point, and demanding that other liberals follow suit or else, because they can’t stand the heat and prefer “friendlier” news outlets, so it only stands to reason that the same rule applies here with these “off-the-record” chit chats where no one outside of the “inner circle” knows what was said. But of course, the “scratch my back, I’ll scratch your back” rule applies here. Write a favorable column, or say favorable things about the administration on either your show or a show where you’re a guest, and you’ll continue to get invited to “off-the-record” WH get togethers.
So much for “open government, accountable only to the people.”

Ya know, I watched the new program “V” last Tuesday and had a hard time distinguishing the difference between “the Visitors” and the WH. I wonder how that could be, with the most “ethical and transparent” administration evuh!

I had a better dream last night….about a middle class black family that moves back to the hood to get in touch with their family roots….maybe that’s already been done, but I was thinking that maybe that could be the Obamas in 2012.

Kate, Duh-1 has no real roots in this country. If he did he wouldn’t be prancing (yes, that’s the correct word, libtards) all over the world offending our allies and apologizing to those who aren’t (including, especially, the Saudis).
If he really loved this country he would try to deal with the problems we have, not the symptoms.
If he really loved this country he wouldn’t try to change what has effectively (for the most part) worked for over two centuries into something that has been tried dozens of times in the last century and hasn’t come close to succeeding yet.
And if he truly loved his country, he wouldn’t be so divisive and would quit blaming others for his own failures.
Personally I see this as a sign that the Obama administration’s attempt to force socialism on America is failing and they know it. They are becoming increasingly desperate. Now the administration’s propaganda outlets are forced to have secret meetings with Obama and Propaganda Minister Gibbs in order to manufacture more misinformation for the masses in an attempt to manipulate them. But in doing so, they only dig the hole deeper and deeper for themselves as most people in this country are not as naive as Obama’s administration believes. In the end, they only hasten their demise by resorting to these “Chavista” tactics.
I’d say they had more than their share of tarts at that table!
