Senior IPCC member has global warming skeptic threatened by UN “security”

Such “tolerance” and “open-mindedness”:

A Stanford Professor has used United Nation security officers to silence a journalist asking him “inconvenient questions” during a press briefing at the climate change conference in Copenhagen.

Professor Stephen Schneider’s assistant requested armed UN security officers who held film maker Phelim McAleer, ordered him to stop filming and prevented further questioning after the press conference where the Stanford academic was launching a book.

McAleer, a veteran journalist and film maker, has recently made a documentary “Not Evil Just Wrong’ which takes a sceptical look at the science and politics behind Global Warming concerns.

He asked Professor Schneider about his opinions on Climategate – where leaked emails have revealed that a senior British professor deleted data and encouraged colleagues to do likewise if it contradicted their belief in Global Warming.

Professor Phil Jones, the head of Britain’s Climate Research Unit, has temporarily stood down pending an investigation into the scandal.

Professor Schneider, who is a senior member of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), said he would not comment on emails that may have been incomplete or edited.

During some testy exchanges with McAleer, UN officials and Professor Schneider’s assistants twice tried to cut short McAleer’s question.

However as the press conference drew to a close Professor Schneider’s assistant called armed UN security guards to the room. They held McAleer and aggressively ordered cameraman Ian Foster to stop filming. The guard threatened to take away the camera and expel the film crew from the conference if they did not obey his instructions to stop filming Professor Schneider.

The guard demanded to look at the film crews press credentials and refused to allow them to film until Professor Schneider left the room.

Here’s the video:

Unlike the closed-minded nutjobs who have wrongly declared that the “science is settled” and who are scared sh*tless to actually debate the issue with skeptics, McAleer is fearless when it comes to challenging conventional wisdom on so-called “man-made” global warming. Not long ago he challenged the Goracle on a few global warming myths and as a result his microphone was promptly cut off by environmental “journalists” (read the story and watch the video here).

Earlier today, there was a screening of “Not Evil Just Wrong” – in Copenhagen ;)

    “Such “tolerance” and “open-mindedness”:”

Like Adolph Hitler. Oops, did I say that out loud?!?!:d

  2. Claymore says:

    And so it begins…….

The unstoppable decline of this version of Gaia worship (aka Global Warming).

There will be no arrests, no one will go to prison. The media and others will simply stop speaking on the matter and in a few months, it will be a memory.

Another disaster will soon need us all to sacrifice our freedom, and only the environementals will be able to save us all. All Hail GAIA!!! And in the back of the crowd will be the crypto-marxist, plotting away at how he will hijack this new eco-fad.

And the true believers?? There will always be those who know the earth has a fever and they will be proven right. They will join the ranks of the flat-earthers and the Bigfoot fans. And they will wonder why the rest of us just don’t get it.

In the meantime, we have to stop these idiots from completely destroying the world economy.

PS: Is it just me, or does Gore’s latest poem sound like something an Emo girl with a cutting fetish would write??

  3. Brain says:

None of the science behind global warming stands scrutiny, which is why it cannot stand questions. It is imperative that a full, open and complete debate takes place ASAP, so that the truth can be uncovered. Publicly funded scientists hiding behind privacy should lose their funding.

These people are scary. They are the new scientologists.

  5. your mama says:

hope he stays strong doesn’t give up,more and more people will come to his defense.we’re aware whats going on and the warming thugs are starting to get a bit nervous.

  6. RogerCfromSD says:

I beg to differ with McAleer: Liberals are not just wrong, they are pure unadulterated evil.

  7. Tom TB says:

Science is never consensus! All one has to do is study history to see that those who depend on their sustenance from the political powers that be, will deny what they know to be untrue.

  8. Carlos says:

If it’s consensus, it ain’t science. It may be based on science, may be sound scientific theory, but if it’s just consensus it’s only opinion and absolutely nothing more.

If the “scientific community” wants to alleviate the embarrassment of their own actions, they can debate the subject fully and in the open.

If they don’t want to do that, they’re nothing but charlatans, thieves and beggars.

  9. Kate says:

True to form they won’t admit there could be problems with the veracity of the data on which they based their “theories”. They are convinced we, the ignorant, could never understand the data or that anyone who could is frankly unqualified to do so. In other words, they own the science. Sound right to you?

This is an example of how they protect their turf…and their livelihoods. They would not be receiving the attention that they have now if they didn’t have the ear of those who govern (who frankly don’t understand it either) who are easy touches and fork over money based on emotional response and not reason. They fund the so-call science so they are also not wanting to look like the fools who paid for the emperor’s invisible suit.

  10. Lorica says:

Did the Catholic Church think the same way Kate?? Back in the days before Luther, the Catholic Church decided that the common folk weren’t smart enough to understand, and when they did start to understand, and started to ask these inconvenient questions, they threw them out of the church. =)) – Lorica

  11. Kate says:

You are on my train of thought there Lorica! If they could just re-educate the fool who thought to ask the questions – all would be well with the world of climate change.

  12. Carlos says:

    “…(who frankly don’t understand it either)…”

Gosh, Kate, I was under the impression politicians generally don’t understand anything except how to buy votes and how to get paid for their stupidity, greed and ethical disabilities.

Take Barney Gurgle, for example. Please. Or Nazi. Or Dingy. Or Chrissy. Or Bawbwa. Or almost any other ethically-challenged elected official in D.C..

Strike that. Make that “ethically-challenged official.” Doesn’t have to be elected, as in Geithner.
