This is what happens when Dumb and Dumber collaborate

You get this:

When it comes to matters of prayer, Joy Behar doesn’t know the difference between terrorists and former President George W. Bush.

The National Day of Prayer is coming up on May 6, but on “The Joy Behar Show” April 29, she was discussing the diversity of religion in America with former talk show host Phil Donahue.

In a discussion about the separation of church and state, Behar absurdly compared Bush’s prayers to God with terrorists’ prayers to Allah.

“But remember, George Bush is the one who said that God told him to go into Iraq. The same as that terrorists say that Allah tells them. And what’s the difference between them and Bush I’d like to know,” Behar said.

Donahue suggested that presidents shouldn’t pray: “The framers were right. They saw this coming. You know, what we don’t want is a president who talks to God every day and God talks back.”

Behar probably doesn’t know this, and if she did, she’d probably still keep saying it – perhaps even more fervently, but the source of the “quote” she attributes to Bush about how God allegedly told him to go to war in Iraq is a 2005 assertion from none other than the notoriously dishonest Palestinian government:

George Bush has claimed he was on a mission from God when he launched the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a senior Palestinian politician in an interview to be broadcast by the BBC later this month.

Mr Bush revealed the extent of his religious fervour when he met a Palestinian delegation during the Israeli-Palestinian summit at the Egpytian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, four months after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

One of the delegates, Nabil Shaath, who was Palestinian foreign minister at the time, said: “President Bush said to all of us: ‘I am driven with a mission from God’. God would tell me, ‘George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan’. And I did. And then God would tell me ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq’. And I did.”

Mr Bush went on: “And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, ‘Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East’. And, by God, I’m gonna do it.”

Mr Bush, who became a born-again Christian at 40, is one of the most overtly religious leaders to occupy the White House, a fact which brings him much support in middle America.

Soon after, the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz carried a Palestinian transcript of the meeting, containing a version of Mr Bush’s remarks. But the Palestinian delegation was reluctant publicly to acknowledge its authenticity.

You can learn all you need to know about Nabil Shaath’s “credibility” here.

The Constitution doesn’t guarantee freedom from religion any more than it guarantees me freedom from idiots. Like Behar.

If she doesn’t like what someone is saying on TV, use what the genii at GE or wherever invented: the off button!

And it’s a lot easier to attack what a leader says if someone else invents what that leader said.

This sounds like a real liberal snore fest…..she must be running out of material….she ran out of brain cells years ago.

Dragging Phil Donahue out of mothballs….wow…what did she have on him?

Two of the most ignorant liberals meet on a talk show. What’s not to love????

Hey morons, the separation of church and state was meant to keep government out of religion NOT religion out of government.

She is disgusting to me. The faster she if off TV, the happier I will be. What a leftist radical nut bag.

Now JanNap is saying our full resources are being used to close the borders.

I take that to mean they aren’t allowing Mexicanos to escape to Mexico, not the other way around.

If the colander we use for spaghetti was as porous as our “beefed-up” border, we’d throw it away…

Although, she almost got it right in one way. If they would crack down on criminal employers hiring criminal aliens (instead of pussy-footing around and not harassing major contributors) and fine them to the maximum extent of the law, the problem would be solved in less than six months.

Then we could wait two years while we rebuild our health, education, justice and welfare systems, and then pass immigration laws that would be enforced in an orderly way, all the while sending a new message to Mexico that they lost, we won, 170 years ago and the southwest United States is no longer a part of Mexico.

    Isn’t that the truth!!

Welcome to the 1984…Time to re-write history to make it agree with their liberal agenda…:o
