Pelosi: Give us money so the GOP won’t get a majority and investigate us

Posted by: ST on June 23, 2010 at 8:35 pm

The Hill reports (via Doug Ross):

{…] In a fundraising letter for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Pelosi says if Republicans take back the House, they’ll initiate “endless investigations against President Obama” and “bring back the days of Ken Starr and the politics of personal destruction.”

“Remember a Republican-controlled Congress that devoted more time to subpoenas and investigations than to solving our country’s problems?” Pelosi asks. “There is far too much at stake for our country now to allow it to happen again.”

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, has shown himself willing and eager to be a thorn in the side of the Obama administration on everything from the BP oil spill to the Joe Sestak job offer. Few doubt that he would use a chairmanship to ramp up those efforts.

[…]

“Obviously, Speaker Pelosi believes that a Democratic Congress should give this administration immunity from legitimate questions and appropriate accountability,” Issa said. “Her statements are indicative of the desperate state her Majority is in and if the best case she can make is to caution the American people against the dangers of conducting legitimate and vigorous oversight, she is welcome to make that case.”

What happened to Pelosi’s “drain the swamp” campaign message? Probably went down the drain with her pledge to operate the US House in a “bipartisan” fashion after the 2006 elections …

Obama, Reid, Pelosi

'Drain the swamp'? Uh huh.

Gosh, Nancy, you apparently have forgotten about the “endless investigations” against President Bush that the democrats initiated, eh???? Iraqgate? Plamegate? Attorneygate? Ring any bells, you moron?

What a mindless, plastic faced hypocrite she is. Such a despicable and vile human being.

I so hope the republicans take back the house and senate, and then we finally will have a transparent government!

“There is far too much at stake for our country now to allow it to happen again.”

Yeah, like sweetheart deals, rampant corruption, etc., etc.

So much for “the most transparent Congress evuh!”

And the best thing is, if the Repubs are in control, there’s not a thing she or Duh-1 or anyone else could do about it.

The problem, however, is that if they’re going to investigate anyone, they should investigate everyone in Congress – you know, the old “birds of a feather” thing, or “guilt by association.”

I have no doubt that there are one or two, maybe even a dozen really honorable people serving. But until they are all investigated, we’ll never know for sure.

Finally, the last thing we need is a circus setting for all this. A “disinterested third party” investigator should be hired with an unlimited budget and free rein to investigate anything he wants of any member he wants.

That would get some boots shaking on the old ranch.

Didn’t Pelosi promise the most *ethical* Congress ever? And didn’t Clinton promise the same for his administration when he took office? That recycled pledge is a perfect example of why an elephant is the symbol for one party and an ass is the symbol of the other.

Let the Dem’s pony up the dough to save that sinking ship–unless they can force through Amnesty and capture all of the illegal votes as well as the majority of the black vote (but remember, it’s not about race), I hope and pray they are sunk. And I’d love to see her on the prow of that ship.

This from the same people who had endless mock impeachment trials of President Bush. These people are horrible. If I were to get such a letter, it would encourage me to send money to the Reps and to vote Rep….. just to see what she is hiding. – Lorica
