ALERT: Al Gore hypocrisy watch

Posted by: ST on August 27, 2011 at 10:58 am

Don Surber has a devastating take-down of two recent hypocritical Goracle assertions – one on his ridiculous, false claim that global warming alarmists do not manipulate climate data for financial gain, and the other on his silly, two-faced call for people to “ditch meat-heavy diets” — to ‘save the world’, of course.

As usual with the AGW crowd it’s “do as I say, not as I do.”  And these morons have the nerve to wonder why we don’t take them seriously? I mean, if they don’t follow their own rules, why the hell should we?  l-)

  1. Carlos says:

If Algore ever, and I do mean EVER, said anything that made a lick of sense I would listen to at least his next sentence.

But the chances of THAT happening are about the same as for Obhammud to attend a real Christian church and listen.

  2. PE says:

Al Gore is campaigning to be the patron saint of idiots when he grows up.

  3. Charlie says:

At what point do the insane get removed from society? Al’s been allowed to run free for too long.

    *stay safe back there ST.

  4. Joe says:

Algore is just worried his eco-profits are down as AGW scare is fading. He will be expanding his enterprises; it’s a good idea to diversify. I expect more in the future.

  5. ST says:

Hey, Charlie! We’re ok here in Charlotte – we just got a little bit of wind and it was overcast this morning but now its mostly sunny. It’s the coast that was hardest hit.

  6. Tom TB says:

What could be more totalitarian than attempting to tax the one activity that only Human beings can do; that is to make and control FIRE! Take another trip on a private jet, Al, your scam has fallen apart.

  7. cheesesteak says:

I take particular exception to the “don’t eat meat” crowd. This is based on the production methane by cattle and other meat producing species.

Methane, although widely stated to be 10 times to 70 times worse than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas (see wikipedia for example) has almost no infrared adsorbtion spectra and cannot function as a greenhouse gas as the term is currently understood.

And the Gorecal wonders why people are sceptical.

  8. Great White Rat says:

The best quote I’ve seen on the AGW hysteria goes something like this: I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who say it’s a crisis begin acting like it’s a crisis.

Gore’s problem, in his own mind, is that he’s lost relevance. When people talked about AGW a decade ago, the discussion immmediately went to “Earth in the Balance” (you know, the dull tome that inspired the Unibomber”) or to how the authoritarians in charge of the schools could force kids to sit through his fraud of a film. Now, if the topic comes up, the most common themes are “hide the decline” and faked hockey stick graphs.

Gore’s been reduced to the equivalent of a band playing on an oldies tour, where he’s tryng to be relevant again by screaming obscenities. Forunately, there are “no controlling legal authorities” to deal with that.

You also gotta wonder if the carbon credits scam he counted on to enrich himself hasn’t lost all credibility and is hemhoraging money.

  9. Dana says:

There’s actually an alert for an Al Gore Hypocrisy Watch? I thought it was just an ongoing thing.

  10. There’s a place here in D/FW called Rafain’s. It’s a churrascaria – a Brazilian steakhouse. After a bodacious salad bar, waiters come out with as many as 15-20 separate types of meat, all on skewers and roasted over an open flame in the back, and serve you as much as you want of any particular cut. It ain’t cheap, to be sure, but given the quality of the meat, it’s well worth the price.

Mrs. Venomous & I are cleaning ’em out tonight. (evil grin)

  11. Carlos says:

@GWR: Algore ever had relevance? News to me, even when he was VP!

@PE: He’ll never grow up, PE – just out. More, and more, and… Pretty soon he’s gonna be as big as Michael Moore, and still just as much a pouty child.

  12. Great White Rat says:

Carlos, in his own mind, and in the minds of those who don’t concern themselves with, you know, thinking, he did,. To all of us with more than one functioning brain cell, no.

  13. TexasDoc says:

Give up meat to save the world? Tell that to Moochelle Antoinette the next time she woofs down cheesburgers, milkshakes, fries and a diet coke (the vegetable serving?).

    And Al: STFU.

  14. Trudy Hill says:

Oh PUHLEEESE, isn’t there something we can put him in jail for just to shut him up ?

  15. Tango says:

…..and to think AlGore was >this< close to actually being sworn in as president. Yikes!

  16. alanstorm says:

Al Gore hypocrisy watch? Good lord, do you have that much time to spare?

Re: #7, If ungulate farts are a global warming problem, what was going on when herds of millions of buffalo roamed the plains? Are they seriously trying to assert that the herds of cows in this country are larger than that?

  17. Jenny says:

In Politico’s article on eating less meat to combat global, this was the most telling sentence:

“When racist comments would come up in the course of conversations, “There came a time when people said, ‘Hey man, why do you talk that way? That’s wrong, I don’t go for that, so don’t talk that way around me. I just don’t believe that.’

To me, that sums up so well the “conversation stoppers” that are their stock and trade. The false parallels to racism and the civil rights movement are endless. I love how someone disagreeing with you is simply verboten. (as if you’d used the “n” word). Classic liberal subterfuge.
