The battle of the wives
First, we had Elizabeth Edwards’ remarks about Lynne Cheney’s criticism of John Kerry’s mention of Mary Cheney at the last debate:
“I think that it indicates a certain degree of shame with respect to her daughter’s sexual preferencesΓ’β¬Β¦ It makes me really sad that that’s Lynne’s response.”
And now, this, from Teresa Heinz Kerry, in reference to the First Lady:
“Well, you know, I don’t know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don’t know that she’s ever had a real job β I mean, since she’s been grown up.”
Memo to Teresa: Gidda clue.
