The battle of the wives
First, we had Elizabeth Edwards’ remarks about Lynne Cheney’s criticism of John Kerry’s mention of Mary Cheney at the last debate:
“I think that it indicates a certain degree of shame with respect to her daughter’s sexual preferences… It makes me really sad that that’s Lynne’s response.”
And now, this, from Teresa Heinz Kerry, in reference to the First Lady:
“Well, you know, I don’t know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don’t know that she’s ever had a real job — I mean, since she’s been grown up.”
Memo to Teresa: Gidda clue.
