Arnie on TV

Conan the Destroyer movie cover I was flipping through channels just a minute ago and saw that Conan the Destoyer is on … it’s funny to watch that and know that Arnie’s moved on to bigger things like getting elected Governor of California.

I bet there are some days he wishes he could return to the movie biz 😉 Governing California and having to work with the cast of characters in the state legislature proves frustrating, I’m sure.

I think if he were to show up for a speech to the state legislature in his Conan outfit – including the weaponry, they’d listen …. heh.

LOL 🙂 I saw an interview with him one time and the Conan Sword sits in a travel case specially made for it, right behind his Governor’s chair.

L Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter edited and republished the entire Conan series back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and I read them, to death. The Governator’s Conan didn’t do the series justice.

“Torches flared murkily on the revels in the Maul, where the thieves of the East held carnival by night.” The greatest line in American literature, from The Tower of the Elephant, one of Robert E Howard’s first Conan stories, published in Weird Tales, in 1933.

I wish I still had all of those books; they just fell apart from overuse.

Come on, Sister, going from Conan to the Governator was a step down for Arnold. Granted, Davis depserately deserved a wedgie and Schwartzenegger was probably the best placed person to do it, but I really wish he’d kept making films. Make fun of his accent, his roles, his screen dialog, even the lame turkeys he did all you want, but I’d like some more in the mold of the first Conan, the first two Terminators, Predator, or (doffs hat) True Lies.

California can screw itself up or fix itself on its own. Not many politicians make a stamp on history, but a good film, or even a fun cheesy one, is forever.

The second Terminator movie was the better one, due to Linda Hamilton and that awesome bod!

In fact, I can just picture our lovely hostess, whom we have seen only from the neck up, as looking a lot like Miss Hamilton in that white tank top, kicking liberal ass! 😡

The clowns that run the Democrat party in CA aren’t scared by anything less than loss of their power. Death doesn’t scare them. They just need to screw up other people’s lives as much as their own lives are screwed up.
