BTW, game one of the Stanley Cup finals is tonight – the Canes are playing on their home turf versus Edmonton. Game time is 8 PM ET.

Update I: I knew it was going to be a bad night when I overcooked a chicken breast filet in the microwave and spilled a mini-can of diet Sprite on my computer desk. The ‘Canes look like crap tonight – Edmonton just scored a penalty shot, which puts them up 2-0 in the second period (make that 3-0 … just scored another one). Worse, my cat is sick tonight off of meds she got at the vet today – it was time for her check up, plus she was checked out from lingering problems associated with the limp she had Saturday (I discussed that briefly here). Mom told me that the vet speculated today that my cat was bitten by a spider or stung by a bee on her back left paw, but doesn’t know for sure. I’ve gotten a call from my mom twice tonight that Muffie has thrown up. She sometimes doesn’t take to well initially to meds. Poor lil’ girl. I wish I could be with her.

Update II: Unreal – The ‘Canes have scored three goals in the third period to go up 4-3 on Edmonton. If there was a chandelier in this room right now, I’d be hanging on to it dangling! 8:59 to go …

Update III: What a turnaround! Rod Brind’Amour scored goal #5 with thirty seconds left to win game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals 5-4. I feel a Howard Dean-like scream comin’ on 😀 \:d/
