The first line in this article:

Republican leaders in Congress have created something called the National Council for a New America (NCNA).

Stop right there. What’s wrong with the old America?? You know – the one that was built on principles set down in the Declaration of Independence and encoded in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The one that embraced the concepts of private property and free enterprise. The one that created a standard of living that is the envy of the rest of the planet. The one that shares its innovations and wealth willingly anytime disaster strikes anywhere on the globe.

Unlike Michelle Obama, I’ve always been proud of that America.

We don’t need a new America. But if these so-called Republican leaders are serious about wanting a “new America”, then we do need a new Republican party.
