Tonight’s CNBC GOP debate – Open Thread

Good grief. Talk about being out of the loop. I have been so immersed into Occupy Wall Street refutations that I did not even know there was a debate between GOP candidates tonight (in Rochester, Michigan, at Oakland University). It is just now starting – broadcast on CNBC – and the focus of the debate is the economy. CNBC is both broadcasting it and liveblogging it. Looking for an online link to post for those with no access to a TV right now.

Frankly, the state of the GOP presidential race has made me too depressed for words. I’m hoping I’ll wake up next week and find out the last several weeks have just been a really bad nightmare!

Update – 8:10 PM: Doesn’t look like the debate is being live-streamed. Darn it.

Perry’s gaffe last night is the reason why he has gone to extreme lengths here in Texas to avoid debates with political opponents, at all costs, during past gubernatorial races. He’s just the absolutely worst debater in U.S. history, and he knows it. He’s been doing himself constant damage since he started campaigning and I think he finally gave himself the mortal wound last night.

I’m still a big Cain fan and think he would destroy Obama in the elections and Obama’s camp is terrified of running Obama against a real black candidate. So that’s why I believe he’s the target of a well planned and well coordinated Democratic Party character assassination operation. And sadly, its looking like they will succeed in destroying him with the help of their propaganda clients in the MSM.

So its really looking like Romney will end up being the 2012 Republican Party nominee for President because he has the best handlers and the best damage control team of all the candidates to protect him from the Democratic Party’s character assassination squads.

But I’m still rooting for Cain till the end.
