I’m getting word that fruitcake GOP candidate for NC8 Tim D’Annunzio has had runoff competitor Harold Johnson “served with papers” at a Harold Johnson event that took place at the GOP Victory HQ in Fayetteville late this afternoon. Details are sketchy at this point but a Twitter friend posted this picture of the deputies arriving earlier.
Mr. Conspiracy, the same guy who – along with some of his supporters – has repeatedly insinuated that his fellow GOP opponent Harold Johnson was “too chicken” to debate him, has backed out of a scheduled June 9th debate:
I wrote last night about the interparty GOP battle going on between NC8 contenders Tim D’Annunzio and Harold Johnson, and how Tim D’Annunzio was falsely running as the “anti-establishment” candidate and how he was portraying Harold Johnson as a “center left” candidate simply because, unlike D’Annunzio, Johnson had received the official endorsements of so many local, state, and national GOP politicos rather than from the various local Tea Party movements.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote to you about the battle going on in NC’s 7th Congressional district where the clear winner of the GOP primary there, Ilario Pantano, is having to contend with the two losers of the GOP primary: Will Breazeale – a serial military record embellisher and someone with, er, “domestic issues” in his past, and Randy Crow, a troubled and warped 9-11 Truther who also fancies himself as a 2012 Republican candidate for President. Sadly, similar issues are taking place in the battle for NC’s 8th Congressional district.
Update 2 – 10:27 PM: Great night for Ilario Pantano in NC 7 as he defeated character assassin Will Breazeale handily. Pantano will go on to face incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre for a seat that has been in Dem hands for what seems like forever. NC-8 will likely see a runoff as no candidate has made it to the 40% mark. Tim D’Annunzio leads, and Harold Johnson is a close second. Democrats will likely have a runoff next month between NC Sec. of State Elaine Marshall and Cal Cunningham in the race to beat incumbent GOP Senator Richard Burr.
