The blogosphere is buzzing this morning about various news reports of “Republicans blocking the Senate from debating” on the non-binding Warner-Levin amendment expressing opposition to the President’s surge plan.
On Saturday, I wrote about how the media is already making its case against confrontation with Iran by setting up strawman arguments against the administration and framing the debate based on things the administration has not asserted. Here’s what I said in the last full paragraph of that post (emphasis added):

This piece at RealCities.com is just one of many which builds a strawman argument that the President has not made about Iraq, and attempts to tear it down. Let’s take a look at the opening two paragraphs (emphasis added):

Clay Waters reports on the tale of two NYT reporters who went on PBS’ Charlie Rose show (each on a different occasions) and expressed an opinion about the war in Iraq. The reporter who expressed that he wanted us to win in Iraq was publicly chastised after a complaint from a reader, whereas the reporter who expressed that we were “rushing bombs to this part of the world. And it just erodes and erodes and erodes America’s reputation” received no public rebuke.
