Fresh off his Academy Award win on Sunday night, presidential wannabe Al Gore must be feeling pretty invincible as he took it upon himself to respond to, as the very liberal Think Progress describes it, Drudge’s “latest hysterics” on Al Gore’s gw hypocrisy.
He’s been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He was a “hot ticket” recently in Canada. CBS Early Show anchor Harry Smith wondered aloud a few weeks ago if Gore should be considered a “prophet.” And today, the WaPo posted an unnewsworthy piece on Al Gore – on the front page – that describes him as a “rock star.”
Back on the 12th, I blogged about a rape that allegedly happened to a Duke student at an off campus frat party, and noted an obvious double standard the media was employing, namely that they weren’t so quick to release the race of the accused unlike they were in the Duke lacrosse rape case drama, where they mentioned the race and ‘privileged backgrounds’ of the three accused lacrosse players as often as they possibly could. In my post, I noted that the accused in the incident that allegedly happened on the 11th was described in most media reports as “wearing a black do-rag, sweatshirt, and blue jeans.”
My crush on Fox News’ Brit Hume is well known among my readers. As I wrote back in July about Hume:
Remember the WaPo pre-Iraq war intelligence story that was widely reported and discussed last week, the one where they falsely attritubed quotes to the Inspector General that were actually Democratic Senator Carl Levin’s? Just to recap, here’s how the correction read (emphasis added):
