Panthers at the Falcons (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 31-10)
It’s the last game of the season for the 2-13 Carolina Panthers, and they’ll play it in Atlanta, where the 12-3 Falcons will look to gain home field advantage in the playoffs with a win. It’ll probably be a fairly easy task for Atlanta, considering the Cats’ continued QB woes, and the fact that they’ll be without WR Steve Smith.
Photos/video: George & Laura Bush sign books in Charlotte – Rev. Graham makes appearance
As you can imagine, the local news networks/papers were all over the story of former President Bush and Laura Bush being in town at the Rev. Billy Graham Library to sign copies of their books to people who had camped out Friday night to get a wristband Saturday, and who camped out last night to get a good spot in line today. Reportedly there were around 1,000 people waiting in line to meet them (you can view photos here of the long lines and traffic), and many of those who stood in line got the rare chance to briefly see the Rev. Graham himself. Graham, 92, doesn’t make many public appearances these days due to health issues.
The Cardinals at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS WIN 19-12)
The Panthers will be hosting the Cardinals today here in Charlotte in one of the most uninteresting games of the day. The Panthers are one of the NFL’s worst teams at 1-12, and the Cardinals are not much better at 4-9. For the Cats to have any chance of winning, they’ll have to be able to contain Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, a tall order. Of course, they’ll also have to produce on offense – an even taller order.
Falcons at the Panthers (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 31-10)
The 1-11 Panthers take on 10-2 NFC South Division rivals the Atlanta Falcons here at home today in a game where the most exciting thing will be to see if it rains a lot or a little (it rained here overnight and it’s been raining on and off this morning and afternoon). In fact, things have already gotten off to a dismal start for the Panthers as the first play of the game has seen them turn it over to Atlanta deep into Panther territory, leading to an Atlanta touchdown.
Panthers at the Seahawks (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 31-14)
The Panthers are on the road today, taking on a playoff-hopeful Seattle Seahawks. Needless to say, there are no playoff hopes for the Cats as they are struggling to win only their second game of the season, thereby avoiding the dreaded title of “worst team in the NFL.”
