Former Senator and VP candidate Lloyd Bentsen has passed away. He was 85.
Drudge retracts “Dean supported Landrieu” story
Drudge reported on Sunday via an anonymous source that DNC Chair Howard Dean secretly supported Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu over incumbent Mayor Ray Nagin in the mayoral election there – in his story was also the allegation that Dean had sent “political operatives” to New Orleans to work against Nagin’s re-election efforts.
New meaning to the term ‘cold hard cash’
I blogged yesterday about the new revelations concerning Democratic Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) being caught on tape accepting bribe money from a FBI investigator and included it in with news about New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin’s re-election victory this weekend – but the story on Jefferson deserves a post all its own so here it is.
