The last few days have seen a flurry of outrage expressed by Republicans over a recent Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ad which showed an image of the flag-draped coffins of US troops being transported back home (view the ad here). Because of the condemnations expressed towards the DCCC by Republicans over the ad, it has now been pulled (hat tip: Allah).
Jonathan Chait, who once declared that he hated President Bush and explained why in a New Republic piece, has written a piece that appeared in today’s LA Times about the anti-Lieberman forces in Connecticut have overplayed their hand by demanding party purity instead of accepting Senator Joe Lieberman for disagreeing with the DNC on a few issues (namely, Iraq).

The word “murder” leaves a distinctly different impression on the listener as would “kill” as it relates to the military – a distinction of which I’m sure Ms. Turnbull is well aware.
