I’ll be slightly preoccupied with watching the NCAA championship basketball game tonight. 😀 Doubt I’ll be around much, if any, as I have a hard enough time breathing let alone typing when Duke is in a game like this. Deep breaths! Deep breaths!
I’ll be headed out in a little bit for lunch and to catch the ACC championship game, in which I hope to see my beloved Duke Blue Devils defeat the Ga. Tech Yellow Jackets. Game time is 1 PM ET for anyone else interested.
Been a hectic day today and have not had a chance to write about the biggest news story of the day here in Charlotte. The Panthers cut Jake Delhomme yesterday and made it official today in a press conference that featured Coach Fox and General Manager Marty Hurney, who were both emotional when talking about having to release him (Matt Moore has now been moved to the starting QB slot after his impressive performances in the second half of the season last year). Delhomme was even more emotional at his presser, and understandably so. The Panthers were the first NFL franchise that gave him a chance, and he’s been here for seven years, and was completely devoted to making things happen.
Time to get in your last-minute predictions as to what will happen and who will win in tonight’s much-hyped match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl 44, being played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. Indy is favored to win today, while the Saints are the obvious “sentimental favorite” since they’ve never been to a Super Bowl, and of course, considering what New Orleans has been through since Hurricane Katrina. I’m inclined to root for the Saints on that basis, in spite of the fact that they are a division rival of the Panthers, and in spite of the fact that I think Peyton Manning is adorable. 😀
