Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day
I have a weakness for pirates in those cute outfits 😉 This pirate is pretty darn cool, too.
Fisking Clinton’s dissing of the President
This past weekend, President Clinton went on the attack about President Bush, calling the Iraq war unnecessary and putting the lion’s share of the blame for the Katrina response on the federal government.
Help the federal gov’t trim the pork!
We know the costs of the relief and rebuilding efforts on the Gulf Coast as a result of Hurricane Katrina are going to go into the billions ($200B and probably more). The President has said that taxes will not be raised in order to pay for the rebuilding but instead that Congress will have to take a long hard look at the budget and start trimming some pork. This was especially interesting, considering that just a couple of days prior to the President saying that, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-LaLa Land) declared an "ongoing victory" in Congress in terms of cutting fat in the federal budget.
North Korea Vows To Drop Nuclear Weapons Development
While the US has been arguing over who should shoulder the lion’s share of the blame over the pre- and post-Hurricane Katrina response this past weekend, North Korea has apparently agreed to drop its nuclear weapons programs:
Where did the weekend go?
Did this one not just fly by or what?
