Hey y’all – since I was off most of last week, today is going to be a bit hectic for me as I get back into the work groove. I suspect the same is true for my co-blogger Anthony as he was off even longer than I was. Bear with us, as hopefully we’ll be back to blogging on a normal (what’s normal?? 🙂 ) schedule sometime later today.
American liberals and people outside the United States often roll their eyes in patronizing sufferance when an American, such as Senator-elect Marco Rubio (R-FL), states that the USA is the greatest country in the history of the world. It’s dismissed as naive and provincial, a chest-thumping nationalism about as out of date in a transnational world as the horse and buggy after the coming of the auto.
It’s the last game of the season for the 2-13 Carolina Panthers, and they’ll play it in Atlanta, where the 12-3 Falcons will look to gain home field advantage in the playoffs with a win. It’ll probably be a fairly easy task for Atlanta, considering the Cats’ continued QB woes, and the fact that they’ll be without WR Steve Smith.
I’d like to be able to say that I am creative enough to come up with a spectacular year-in-review list but I’m afraid I’m not; we’ll leave that to others. I would like to use this post to talk about things I’m thankful for this year:
I’m continuing from yesterday doing what a lot of people do this time of year: Cleaning out stuff to either throw away or give to Good Will. Took four big bags of clothes and a half a bag of shoes there yesterday, and have some other stuff to take today. Oh, and Christmas is officially over at Casa de ST as all decorations are down.
