We have joint winners for this month’s Porker Award from Citizens Against Government Waste and Reason.TV: Senators Tom Carper (D) of Delaware and George Voinovich (R) of Ohio, who want to raise the federal gasoline tax 135% so they and their buddies can use even more of the Highway Trust Fund for purposes for which it was never intended, such as hovercrafts.
Something else to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week: Sarah Palin, for ripping the MSM/punditocracy a new one over their continued double standards when it comes to the issue of political gaffes. Palin made one earlier this week on the North/South Korea stand-off, and the mainstream media (and snide left wing pundits and Beltway insider Republicans) went ballistic (no pun intended) with criticism. Palin responded via Facebook noting some of the numerous gaffes made by President Obama that typically get little to no attention from The Usual Suspects who are still infatuated and slobbering over our celebrity President after all this time.
