TIME issues correction on Haditha story

This is unreal:

In the original version of this story, TIME reported that “one of the most damning pieces of evidence investigators have in their possession, John Sifton of Human Rights Watch told Time’s Tim McGirk, is a photo, taken by a Marine with his cell phone that shows Iraqis kneeling β€” and thus posing no threat β€” before they were shot.” While Sifton did tell TIME that there was photographic evidence, taken by Marines, he had only heard about the specific content of the photos from reports done by NBC, and had no firsthand knowledge. TIME regrets the error.

Flopping Aces and Sweetness and Light put this correction in context.

This is becoming more apparent by the day, isn’t it?

Update: Kim Priestap at Wizbang has a must-read post loaded with links on more Haditha story discrepancies and speculation that all may not be as it seems with what we’ve been hearing and reading ad nauseam in the MSM. (Hat tip: Bak)
