Dumb and Dumber

CNN’s Political Ticker reports today that Democrat hopeful for president Bill Richardson will be on the campaign trail this weekend with a “former president” (emphasis added):

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Hillary Clinton isn’t the only White House hopeful to barnstorm Iowa with a former president this year.

Former TV President Josiah Bartlet, also known as actor Martin Sheen, is set to hit the trail with Bill Richardson this weekend. Sheen announced his support for Richardson earlier this month, hailing the New Mexico governor as “ready for prime time.”

Sheen is no stranger to the White House — at least, not the Hollywood version. He has played the President of the United States at least four times: in addition to his run on The West Wing, Sheen played the commander-in-chief in the 1983 mini-series Kennedy, the 1987 TV movie Medusa’s Child, and the 1983 movie The Dead Zone.

“I am looking forward to Martin showing me around the White House, and I hope I can serve as many terms in the White House as his characters have,” said Richardson.

What a dope. If I’m not mistaken, Sheen’s Bartlet “served” two terms in the WH. Even if he only served one, that means between his roles on The Left Wing and the three movies mentioned in the CNN piece, that would total four terms. Apparently Richardson hasn’t heard of the 22nd Amendment.

As far as Sheen is concerned, I think he’s much better when he’s doing things like this:

Moonbat on parade

That way, we only have to read rather than hear his blathering about the Iraq war. And knowing he’s anti-war makes it pretty simple to figure out why he believes Richardson is “ready for prime time.”

Many on the left like their fantasy world much better than the real one. Which makes their claims to be part of the Reality Based Community… well, delusional and risible.

There. I think that’s much better than my first choice of words. Notice I wrote it withough having to resort to asterisks?

    Dear Bill Richardson,
Go pound sand up your a**. You are a worthless piece of human waste that thinks he knows something. OK, you don’t know squat.
The Old Retired Petty Officer has said his piece.

I think Richardson should follow ol’ Martin’s steps in one of his acting roles. He should head up the Nung River past the Do Long bridge, just as Captain Willard did.

    The horror… the horror!

    LOL – bingo, Steve.

Ryan, when I was in Rescue Swimmer School years ago, I was far and away the oldest guy in the class, older than any of the instructors and possibly the oldest guy to go through it.

I mentioned that to a shipmate and he said I should go by the handle “Kurtz.” I thought for a bit, then decided, nah, too obscure. Besides, that name carried lots of baggage. Anyway, I always ended up being “Skubie” everywhere I went anyway.
