Jerk of the year nominee?

NC Cop sends along this link to a story about a disgusting Bush-hater who was arrested yesterday after allegedly assaulting an 18 year old girl in a wheelchair who has cerebral palsy:

A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents has told him to shut up, authorities said yesterday. German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.

“He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, ‘What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,’ ” said John Lovetro. “He was unperturbed. I said, ‘Get out of here! You’re being a moron!’ ”

The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen – a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004.

“I heard my daughter hysterical yelling, ‘He’s hitting me!’ ” said Wendy Lovetro.

“He punched her on the shoulder blades, but that wasn’t enough,” she said.

“My husband pushed the wheelchair away from him and he reached beyond my husband and began pounding my daughter in the thigh.”

The two men fought as the president’s family drove off. Cops broke them up and busted Talis on charges of assault and resisting arrest.

The website “We Are the Change” is claiming Lovetro was the one who attacked Talis and says Talis never raised a hand to anyone, but if the NY Post story is any indication, it looks like it’s Talis who was the aggressor. It wouldn’t be surprising, considering it’s been well documented how the far fringes of the left tend to get violent and aggressive when they think no one is buying their “message.”

Here’s one of the many fruit loopy things found on the home page of the We Are The Change website related to the incident:

Our proud member Gary, who was confronting Laura & Jenna Bush was threatened by an unknown individual. […]

Uh, why is it these nimrods think it’s acceptable to “confront” and yell at two people who did not make the decision to go to war with Iraq, nor issue warnings to Iran? Is there one functioning brain cell amongst these so-called “peaceful” groups?

In related news, the controversy surrounding the ad the Rev. Wright/Obama ad the NC GOP is preparing to run next week has boiled over to the point that apparently the state GOP office is under police protection. A reader sent me the following tip from fellow NC conservative Katy:

The state party is apparently receiving threats, as the Raleigh Police Department has been guarding NC GOP headquarters all day. The doors to the Hillsborough Street building are locked. After the firebombing of the same structure by anarchists a few years back, they’ve learned to expect the unexpected.

Katy also writes that contrary to media reports, the ad is *not* being pulled. Bravo! They still need help in keeping the ad on the air once it starts airing next week.

Ahh, yes. More of that liberal “tolerance” and “Open mindedness” that we hear so much about.

I thought the Republicans were supposed to be the vicious, hate mongering, violent, free speech stifling, fascists????

Along the same lines is this report from Gathering of Eagles. An Iraq War veteran and his family held a counter-protest across the street from a moonbat rally in Edinboro, PA. You can guess the results:

When the veteran’s 14 year old son crossed the street to videotape the protesters and their signs, the protesters became agitated and began harassing the boy. The right to record video in any public venue is long established in law and any attempt to interfere with that right is a violation of civil rights.

Seeing the escalating tension across the street, the veteran and his wife crossed over, leaving their three youngest children on the other side for safety while they went to retrieve their eldest son. Two of the female â€˜peace’ protesters then attacked the veteran’s wife. When the veteran pulled one of those attackers off his wife he was jumped by four or five of the â€˜peace’ people and knocked to the ground where they held him while beating him and smashing his eyeglasses.

The son pulled the remaining attacker off his mother, but the attacker managed to get in one last kick to his mother’s head with her boot. She then punched the son in his face while his mother called the police.

At least the New York police had the good sense to arrest Talis. In the Edinboro incident, they treated the veteran like a criminal and refused to arrest anyone – although they had a videotape of the incident – even when one of the moonbats spit on the 14-year old right in front of them.

At some point, the left’s love of violence is going to push the rest of America too far. Then, the chickens will really come home to roost, to borrow a phrase from Jeremiah Wright.

NC COP, you are exactly right. Just a few years ago, the NC GOP was firebombed by a group of anarchists who had been holding a rally across the street at NC State University. They slid across the street like snakes.

A couple of conservative students captured three of them, who became known of the “Raleigh 3”. Turns out they were all from out-of-state and were just here to cause trouble. Money for their defense came in from all over the nation and it sickened this blogger.

That evening, the Raleigh PD moved to protect both the Republican and Democrat Headquarters, which is just down the street.

There were 300 people hurling molotov cocktails and wielding cans of spraypaint at NCGOP, but amazingly, NO ONE was at the Dem hq’s. Wonder why? They hid under the guise of anarchism but were they really just liberals?

The NC GOP has had a difficult time raising money this year, and thank goodness they had the guts to go against many NC Republicans and go with this great ad. They are receiving flak from within North Carolina and I honor our Chairman Linda Daves, for standing up to them.

On my blog, I get called a racist and a hater. I’m married into a multi-cultural family and that just doesn’t fly with me.

I believe that Martin Luther King, Jr encouraged us to get past that more than 45 years ago. Dr. King was an inspiration, but it seems that so many, including the Rev. Wright, want to hang onto the ugliness of a shameful past.

This ad wasn’t really about Obama at all. It’s about how the two clowns running for the Democrat nomination for NC Governor have endorsed Obama for the potential votes. They are silly and this ad makes fun of them. Bravo to the NC GOP.

This will never get better Yo. These people are still pissing and moaning about Al Gore losing in 2000. OMG people, build a bridge and get over it. He lost every recount except the crazy one that basically said any hanging chad was a vote for Gore. There is suppose to be a movie coming out soon about this whole thing, what a joke. – Lorica
